May 15, 201214 yr Hi guys, Just looking for some feedback/critique for the screenshots I have attached. I am designing and developing a home styling website for a friend and would like to know if I am going about the design the right way. I am first and foremost a developer so my design skills are limited. I am just starting to get in to the design aspect, trying to learn as much as I can. Added info: I have created the layout using CSS & HTML. Development uses PHP and Jquery/JavaScript. Thanks in advance, Lyndsey.
May 15, 201214 yr Hi Lyndsey, It's a pretty solid layout and colour combination you've chosen so well done for that. The only thing that's really bugging me is that font choice for the nav and logo It's a bit too "in your face" for me. The only other thing I can critique is the sponsor's section at the bottom the info isn't presented all that well and looks a little rush. Apart from those things though great job

Apart from those things though great job Hi, Thanks for the helpful feedback I will have a look at trying out some new fonts etc, see what works best! The footer section is what bugs me the most, as it's too 'plain' and boring. I'm a beginner with design so open to any suggestions for how the layout/content would work better etc. Thanks again, Lyndsey.
May 15, 201214 yr The body text needs a bit more line-height for legibility. 1.3-1.5 (unitless, so it's proportional to the current element's text size) is ideal for body copy at 12-14px.

May 15, 201214 yr Colors are looking nice, especially with the slider on top. Enough explained about the font by 4colourprogress. I think the font could be a bit bigger, but it is readable Nice job!
