This website is a copy but all the links are pointing back to the old website. I guess this is about something like a base URL setting. Any suggestions please?

Yup: change it before you export the DB. It's stored by WP in serialized arrays so a simple find/replace on the sql dump won't fix it.

I had already updated the site url in the database but it was the update to Administration > Settings > General panel that was missing.
