August 17, 201115 yr Wouldn't have report a problem, as a web designer you shouldn't have problems on your own site really....
August 18, 201115 yr Is it just me or does the text seem a little blurred? The text is also blurred on my screen (viewing using both firefox and safari on macbook pro) I also looked at one of the websites in the portfolio of the site (http://www.cateringasyoulikeit.co.uk/) and it is blurred on my screen too. Might just be me, my eyes are a bit temperamental.
August 18, 201115 yr Has a very template-like appearance. I love the font used on your button, why isn't that used anywhere else? There's just something about it that seems very flat, boring and just doesn't stand out. a few things that grind my gears. The free quote. Nobody pays for a quote do they? I'd change to 'Get a Quote' and then say it's no-obligation or something. Why would I report a bug on your website? Why would there be bugs. I know what, let me throw a few hundred quid at someone to build a website when they're not even confident in their own website. Your prices seem extremely low? £180 for your top package? I'm not having a go, by the way. I feel that people should charge with what they're comfortable charging, but for an e-commerce website, it should be 10 times that, minimum. Your contact form is ******* gorgeous, shame it's in an iFrame and doesn't fit with the style of your website. Why the hotmail email? Also, I think you should have a separate form for people to use if they want a quote. You have to imagine that if it's just a textarea then some can just put in 'Hi, I want a website for a car showroom, how much?' and then you're left with emailing back and forth trying to claw information out of them. Have a new form, which has drop down menus for things like time-scale, budget, text boxes for example websites they have seen. Basically, all the information you would ask a potential client, or is found on your brief documents. Edited August 18, 201115 yr by Jason Dexter
August 18, 201115 yr Author thanks for your comments, as to the text blur, im not sure, but i have used regular fonts, and seems ok to me. some good points above. i will have a look into them, and implement them. as for the hotmail email, i currently have no email with my hosting provider, as at the moment its free. Can you get one for free? i will create a quote form, as a litebox, and also will make the contact form more in style with the site. very helpful.
August 19, 201115 yr There's something really scruffy about this website, I just can't put my finger on what it is. Perhaps the blurry text? There's some margin on the left of the footer as well? What's going on over there Ryang?
August 19, 201115 yr Author im not really sure on what scruffy, but i will take note. The margin on the footer will get sorted. As for the blurry text, it is Myriad Pro. What text do you recommend?

Your font-family declaration has no fallback. You might want to at least specify one common fallback in case a user doesn't have Myriad Pro (hint: we all do because it comes with Adobe products - it doesn't come with any OS).
August 19, 201115 yr im not really sure on what scruffy, but i will take note. The margin on the footer will get sorted. As for the blurry text, it is Myriad Pro. What text do you recommend? Georgia. It should look nice. Also the grey to white gradients make me feel sick.
August 19, 201115 yr Author right, i am putting these in place, and appreciate your comments. might get rid of the gradient, and make it just white. ill try georgia.
August 19, 201115 yr Yeah I like Trebuchet, probably my favorite. You should try Geneva as well. Gradients can work really well, but sometimes they over do it and make the design look n00bish. It's almost as bad as having bevel emboss on everything. IMO of course.
August 19, 201115 yr Author ok, ill try geneva, and i have took the gradient off, and makes it look a lot better.
August 19, 201115 yr ok, ill try geneva, and i have took the gradient off, and makes it look a lot better. I'm glad it looks better. Getting gradients is as difficult as getting shadows right. They either look brilliant or ruin everything XD Edited August 19, 201115 yr by John Fotios
August 19, 201115 yr Author im going to keep trebuchet. Making it looks less 'scruffy'. It does look better. Thanks for your opinions.
August 19, 201115 yr Your contact form is ******* gorgeous, shame it's in an iFrame and doesn't fit with the style of your website. He must have changed it? Because both of the current forms are hideous and have serious usability issues. The form fields are tiny!
August 19, 201115 yr Also, when the validation bubbles pop up, their overlay on the fields makes it tricky to click into the field. It's kind of odd that I can't click the logo to home. Why the Macbook slider? So clichéd.
August 19, 201115 yr Author i dont really know, i just liked the idea of it, umm the logo will link to home, and the bubbles, i didnt realise... thanks for your comments!
August 20, 201115 yr I had a look and was like "I'm sure i recognise this site" then i remembered the thread about the footer and it all clicked in to place! Anyway a few things to note. (these are my personal opinions though) Why does the slideshow screen hover above the ground? Looks odd. Some sort of mouse-over indication on your buttons would be nice (our work, follow us etc...) Your Twitter feed never loaded for me Way to much emphasis given to the client login. Stick it in the footer or get it out of the way Visited links are navy and it doesn't fit with the current colour scheme In the footer "contact" section, add a link to your contact page too. Ditch the W3C validation buttons. No one cares and they're ugly. Maybe that's where the client login could go? Try to stick the footer to the bottom on shorter pages so that you lose that white space under the footer. 'About Us' and 'Our Pages' look out of kilter due to the fact that they are different headings sizes. Maybe they should carry the same weight? Lose 'Client Area' from the top nav
