Your Life's Soundtrack

Featured Replies

If your life was a movie what would the songs on its soundtrack be?

Ok this is very simple, below are a few life and movie type situations, which songs/tunes/musical scores would you place with them. Obviously you don't have to go through each one of them and if there is something I have missed add it to your sound track. Really I had just done this on a few forums in the past and thought I would introduce it here and see what would happen. Its more of a what is your favourite song for different situations :p

The Soundtrack:

Opening credits

Waking up

Average day

First date

Falling in love

Love scene

Fight scene

Breaking up

Getting back together

Secret love

Life's okay

Mental breakdown

Driving

Learning a lesson

Deep thought

Flashback

Partying

Happy dance

Regreting

Long night alone

Death scene

Closing credits

(I'm sorry about the bad spelling in this...I am so tired and can't be bothered to correct any more then I just have :p )

This has taken me ages! :o

I love this idea, I'll have a proper think about it soon and answer them all. For now, I'm pretty sure the death scene would be Staralfur by Sigur Rós. It is such a beautiful song, and I can imagine someone playing a slideshow of things/photos/videos from my life in the background.

Did you notice the (semi) ironic exclamation mark?

I know it's shameful, but I think if you're going to complete a list like that, it's important to be honest. And I have a bit of a soft spot for old mazza, despite his excessive cheesiness. Something about that song (verse in particular) that just plays over and over in my head. It's woven into the fabric of my dark side ;) Definitely the manilow version though - boyzone just can't cut it!

Sorry about that :) And yes, I did see your semi ironic exclamaton mark.

I'm not taking the mick out of anybody who has a Queen song in their list (one great band)

And don't be embarrassed about Manilow; I had a hell of a job choosing between Russ Abbott and Daniel O'Donnell :o

I saw sense in the end though ....'I love a party with a happy atmosphere'. A truely great performer!

These are sort of serious, I certainly spent enough time thinking about it! :o

And Lol I just saw Rachel's list and I see we have the same idea of what "Love Scene" should constitute hehehe!

I'm officially OLD!!! I don't know a single piece of music on Rachael's list, and I've only even heard of about half the bands. :shok:

*Abandon hope all ye who enter here*

Time to get downloading old man :p

LMAO there's not even a real generation gap between you, its obviously a genre rather than an age difference !

Rachael and Eris have dirty love songs, ooerr! :o;)

You need something with a good beat! :o

And Rob is a soppy romantic :p

Nothing wrong with being soppy (sometimes)! ^_^

I have just realised how many of my songs are chilled out / acoustic / soppy :o

I'm going to put all my songs into an iTunes playlist and see how it sounds in order.

Don't worry mate IMHO music died around 1982 and only came back to life briefly with The White Stripes and a few other Detroit based bands.

Sadly it quickly went dead again.

Do like some modern loungey, trip hop, bassy stuff. But most modern rock and pop leaves me cold, sounds like it's been dreamnt up by a 'brander', 'marketing exec' etc.

headcoat the old fart

oooh just thought eels, lucinda williams, late johnny cash, brmc - actually there's a fair bit of decent stuff still being released. just none of it on the ladys lists B)

Johnny Cash is most certainly on my list!

But doesn't count as still being released :( The video to hurt always gets me and Walk the Line was a fab film

still as in recent release at least hurt was on a recent recording - american recordings 4 i think.

if you liked walk the line the 2 cd set - 'man in black' is a superb buy, covers pretty much the best 40 tracks prior to the release of the american recordings series.

i have about 20 johnny cash lp's and box sets!!

And Lol I just saw Rachel's list and I see we have the same idea of what "Love Scene" should constitute hehehe!

Hell yes. :) (and btw, it's "rachael", not "rachel". ;))

But, yes, I took "love scene" to mean the plain ol' hanky panky.

I'm officially OLD!!! I don't know a single piece of music on Rachael's list, and I've only even heard of about half the bands.

Do not abandon hope! You may not know them, but I get you can relate to some of the lyrics.

Hey ho, let's go

It's going down tonight

Hey ho, let's go

We're gonna do it 'til we die

Cause I, I've got no reason to apologise

That's my generation

Everyone belongs to a generation, don't they?

I like the busker in Northampton that sings Johnny Cash as well :p

I used to live there, and now I only live down the road :p

My OH works in the hospital and I was there shopping on Friday when the busker was there lol.

P.S. Sorry I spelt your name wrong :(

Where on Earth is Northampton?

North-what-town ;) ?

If it's North/ East of Bristol, and it isn't London, then I've never heard of it, and it might as well be a different country.

You know what us westcounrty folks is like!

Oh wow! I live a little bit further down the road... Just past silverstone, actually.

P.S. Sorry I spelt your name wrong.

That's okay. You're not the first, and you most certainly won't be the last.

OH GOD!!! I can't stand the |Wurzels!! I had the misfortune to see them at a free 'concert' not too long back. Considering how long they've been playing together, they were AWFUL :bad:

Actually I'm a total snob when it comes to things like the Wurzels - they're sh!te and I'd much rather be listening to Radio 4 thank you ;)

And I neither like nor drink cider... **struggles to shrug off regional stereotype**

Where on Earth is Northampton?

ha ha - it's just off the M1! Plus we have the "real" Watford, not that town near Londinium. Most people just drive past our little dump of a town and never stop.

I've lived here all my life and the best thing about it is it's location, being right in the middle of the country.

Here's the Wikipedia link :)

Tell me about it, Insomnia just reminds me of going mental (in a good dancing way) at Uni. :p
