I thought I would run this by you guys. I have attached the old logo along with a new concept I am working on.

 

I'd be interested to hear thoughts from people who work in the graphic design field. Has the rebranding been successful?

Even though i prefer dark background with a splash of colour, i'd say the white background one. I like the thickness of the font a feel it would look strong on any colour background.

I think you should merge the F's from both designs.

 

The first one is more defined and easier to understand. The second one has a better leaf shape and the green really helps it.

Hmm. I'll have a good think over the weekend..

 

It's good to get other peoples 'eyes' on a project. Sometimes when you are designing something for yourself you can't seem to see the wood for the trees!

yes as Mike says. Some green on the white one. The green on the grey looks like a weird tulip.

Thank you for showing us pictures of what an oak leaf looks like. I did not go for a literal oak leaf in the design, rather a hint of a general leaf shape.

 

Why?

 

There are a lot of companies that have oakleaf in the title. When I googled them and saw the logos, I did not like most of them which used a literal oak leaf in the design.

 

Is that stupid? Perhaps.

On the one hand, it's naturally enough that if we read the words 'oak leaf', we expect to see just the oak (not palm or aspen) leaf. So we do not expect to see Tour d'Effel on the London's landscape postcard (cognitive dissonance! ).

On the other hand, it's a real challenge for designer - create logo with oak leaf that is unlike other 'oakleaved' ones.
