Ideas needed for a vinyl business logo

Featured Replies

Hello, im starting up a vinyl wrapping business.

Its called LovelockDesign as it includes other form of design work as well.

The trouble is, i have been playing with the idea for a few years and planning, my head is just lost.

The logo needs to be able to be a car sticker in vinyl, so no gradients etc.

I would do a peeling effect, but thats impossible for vinyl stickers.

Any other ideas?

My original idea was something like this:

The obvious choice ;

Oh I just noticed you said no gradients. I guess you could make it flat colours. Why can't you do gradients on cars?

I dont print vinyls, there cut from a sheet of vinyl.

And i know thats the obvious choice, has allways been, just something ive allways tried to avoid.

Maybe i shouldnt... hmm.

How about a key with a heart on the top. The key could represent you hold the key to their design.

You could then make the key as complex or simple as you want, but still be obvious what the shape is without much detail.

Quick google I quite liked these:

Had bit of a play tonight.

The LD part (if you can see) is meant to show half a heart. Not too obvious, but a bit of a play. Think its quite a strong idea as well.

Just deciding where to place the text.

1st one looks too plain, 2nd too cramped.

Thoughts?

and before anyone says, back to the drawing board and make a brainstorm of what you want to show...

It needs to be professional, simple (since is car sticker mainly), and also have a somewhat graphic cleverness to it!

a flat version of glowbridge's idea is best - everything a logo should be: obvious (not necessarily a bad thing). memorable and to the point

I think the very first logo you used was the best choice so far, without the ".co.uk" part maybe. Also, the red hearts remind me of medical services or valentines day. You could do a lot with "lovelock" in the way of symbols, with a bit of thought.

Just curious, why can't you use gradients? I'm assuming you can use more than one colour per print, right? Not that I'm advocating designing your logo with gradients, mind :)

Goodluck,

Even though in the first post he says he's starting a vinyl 'wrap' business, from the other posts it sounds like he is working with a vinyl cutter and not a digital printer so technically he won't be producing wraps like you would find if you did a search for 'vehicle wraps'.

The vinyl cutter does not print onto the vinyl, rather it cuts from rolls of single colour vinyl.

I agree about the first logo. It is very simple, effective and memorable (by far the majority of successful brands in the world have simple logos) and also it can be made using your vinyl cutter. In fact, say you had a new black mini etc for the company vehicle, the branding would be very successful and eyecatching using that design.
