June 24, 201115 yr web designer who does not how to code, html? = graphic designer technically he is correct. A web designer, designs the site, and a web developer codes it well, thats what i was taught at school
June 25, 201115 yr technically he is correct. A web designer, designs the site, and a web developer codes it well, thats what i was taught at school Yeah but in todays world that term has moved on. If you look at any web designer job these days for £25k or less you must be able to design and code in at least 3 different languages also... Also part of the traditional web design role was to code the site in html, while the developer takes care of the back end. Not like that anymore

Also part of the traditional web design role was to code the site in html, while the developer takes care of the back end. Not like that anymore My official title is "Web Designer" and I only work in Photoshop. Of course, I CAN code just wonderful HTML/CSS/JS if need be, but we have Front End Developers for that. I think, at least in more progressive startups in the Boston area, that the roles are becoming "Web/Visual/UI Designer", "Front-End Developer", "Web Developer".
June 25, 201115 yr Its all buzz words end at the end of the day, I remember when I used to call my self "New Media Designer"
