Print site launched - feedback welcome

Hi folks,

Not been on here for a while been busy getting a site done, finally it launched today: http://www.printdiscount.co.uk

Take a look and let me know what you think.

It's HTML5 and uses CSS3 pulse animations on send buttons (only viewable in safari and chrome), also no standard web fonts have been used. The site uses "PT Sans" and "Futura" which was purchased for commercial web use. Also it's powered by Expression Engine.

Looks nice. i do think there is one mediumish problem though. There is a delay on whatever method you are using to replace your fonts which means you get a FOUC (flash of un-styled content) when you load a page via the nav bar for example. . I know this can be fixed but i also know it can be tricky to fix. In my opinion this lets the whole thing down. Otherwise i think it is spot on. Just my two cents. Hope this helps.

Nice domain name :)

Love the concept, with the print related elements in various places. Can't really fault it, not getting any noticable FOUCs.

I've not noticed any FOUCs, what are you viewing it on?

Even on the iPhone using 3G I'm not seeing any issues.

The fonts are done using @font-face.

Looks very good, having give it a quick glance...

Only one thing I spotted, LABEL tags aren't associated with their correpsonding form field on reqest quote form.

Did you use Matrix or relationships for the product data tables?

footer sticky should be a gif or 8-bit png (you could probably save, ooh, .5kb ;) )

you're missing some copy (groan) when you expand the arrow on Colour Printing / Copying (http://www.printdiscount.co.uk/copy) actualyl why do all those sentences finish with an ellipsis? why not rewrite that part of the copy to be paraphrase if the more detailed page it links to? 3-4 bullet points might work instead

e.g.

• Top feeder scanning (multi page PDF document or *Microsoft Word/Excel using OCR.

• Any sizes up to A3

• something else

I am using firefox 3 and i get a FOUC at home on my laptop and at work on my desktop.

*EDIT*

No FOUC in chrome but the font is the default one in IE for me. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the comments and feedback folks.

@BlueDreamer - Good call on the labels... I'll get this fixed. I used Matrix for the tables.

@dap - the original design simply used lorem ipsum for that and it was down to the client to fill in.

@greyhat - This does help, thank you. I'll start looking into this.

Not sure where the missing copy is, everything seems correct. As for the copy ending with ellipsis, that's due to the copy being an excerpt of the product description. A feature of EE.
