May 11, 201115 yr Hi i am glad as i found this site giving free review service. Thanks. I have a site which is still under development. Refer to these 2 links. lovingdessert.com lovingdessert.com/22-chocolate-cheese.html Can anyone provide comment to my site? Could you advice how to improve the right sidebar color at the product page which is in dark green and gray? I tried to change that to orange but it don't match with the overall color. Also, could you give comment and suggestions to my header menu? Thanks again for offering this service. Wish to get your response soon. Thanks
May 11, 201115 yr 1. too many sliders. 2. slider not centred in IE 3. Images are grainy and poor - no need for watermark on them. I've woken up hungry and none of them look appetising. 4. About Us page has 4 large ? on the right hand side 5. What Product page? 6. Testimonials. Slow it down if you must rotate them automatically. 7. Logo needs work. To me it reads Hearting Dessert

Do u think the right sidebar color which in grey and dark green need to be improved? I wish i can get some idea for the logo. Is the logo really misleading? haha
May 11, 201115 yr try adobe.kuler.com and play with some colour combinations. To my eyes you've got too many going on and, yes, the dark greens don't work.

To my eyes you've got too many going on and, yes, the dark greens don't work. yes i have tried using that tool to get the color schema. But i don seem to be able to get one for the sidebar. Could you advice any? i saw this kuler.adobe.com/#themes/search?term=food, but it just don match. Could you enlighten me with your professional suggestion? Thanks so much
May 11, 201115 yr The main thing is that the slider isn't centered in the middle of the browser. Try resizing the browser and you will see what I mean Overall I think it looks a bit inconsistant - different colors, shapes sizes everywhere. It seems obvious where the 'plugged in' parts are e.g. shopping cart pod as they don't fit with the rest of the design. Not a bad start though.
May 11, 201115 yr First thing I thought confusing is the sony walkman? is it also a cake? How about all that make-up, made from butter? love ING deserts. ING desserts The font for ing deserts is not clear and the heart between the r & t is confusing. Are you in Malaysia? you should add that to the about us page. And tell where you ship to, and if I can expect my cake to be fresh when arriving in Holland. Yep you will need to bake more cakes and make high res pics, and make the cake look better cause I have lost my appetite after viewing them cakes. What is in the cakes, there is no info to make my mouth water. color schemes that work Do they really sell cakes already? or is this site going to be something else than just cakes. P.
May 11, 201115 yr btw, using a specific color scheme means that you need to bin all other colored elements not in that scheme. Red bar at top needs to go.
May 11, 201115 yr The hovers in the nav are irritating; they don't have rounded corners at the top. The shadow at the top of the box makes it look like it is 'pushing' the rest of the content down and is slightly wonky. Not intentional, I'm sure, but it does make it look a bit off-balance. As someone else said; too many sliders on the main page, and the images are too low-res even for the web!

Thanks Hi, I have modified most of the things except only 3 below which need more time 1) banner 2) logo 3) product picture Could you advice anything else which i need to improve beside the 3 above. Is the color get better now? I have taken out the floating social bookmarking sidebar as i do not know why it failed to load in some of the pages but i am cracking my head now as i do not know where is the best place to put that.
May 12, 201115 yr 1. The navigation isn't centered. It should either be as wide as the main banner or come in equally on both sides, currently it is too far to the right. I'll attach a picture to show it. Also, the shadow on it could either do with being removed or making a lot more subtler. 2. There is a white section between the background of the product slider and the footer. The background of the slider should continue all the way to the top of the footer. Either that, or it should have the dashed border on the bottom as well as the top of it. 3. The footer is in place so if your browser window is taller than the website, you carry on to get a white background which looks a little odd. I'd either make it a sticky footer or extend the footer background all the way to the bottom of the page. 4. On other pages, your content isn't centered or aligned. The main content starts higher than the sidebar and it also juts out too wide (or the side bar comes in too far. Again, I'll attach an other picture to show it. Edited May 12, 201115 yr by Neji

Except the footer at the main page just don want to stick to the bottom. Give up ~~~ huuu Have a look now
May 15, 201115 yr Author Can anyone advice why is the footer at the front page is not stick to the bottom? i have followed the idea given by ryanfait.com/resources/footer-stick-to-bottom-of-page but it is not working either on my page.
May 16, 201115 yr As several have pointed out there are several positioning problems, but nothing is overly bad from a coding point. What I would strongly suggest though is that the client re-do all the product photographs. Better lighting, plain backgrounds, macro lens so the closeups are sharp and colours brighter etc and get lower angle shots there are some good guides on the web, failing that grab somebody from a local camera club. Good photo's are everything to a site like this it's called McDonalds law.
May 17, 201115 yr Unfortunately Web of Trust (FF4 add-on) said your website was not trustworthy and I was forced to ditch effort and not check it out. Probably not a good thing if your site's reputation is turning away customers Jenna FF4 iMac X 10.6.7
May 18, 201115 yr Author Unfortunately Web of Trust (FF4 add-on) said your website was not trustworthy and I was forced to ditch effort and not check it out. Probably not a good thing if your site's reputation is turning away customers Jenna FF4 iMac X 10.6.7 Thanks for the reply. Why would FF4 rates my site as not trustworthy? I have not include any 3rd party modules in it and my site is completely fresh using ecommerce CMS. This sound totally strange to me. Probably that FF4 web of trust is not trustworthy.. Is it because of the server is not trustworthy ?
September 16, 201114 yr Author Hi guys, i have updated my site. It should look better for now I would appreciate for comments and feedback. Thanks so much. Check out my site Edited September 16, 201114 yr by bedummy
September 18, 201114 yr Author Hi i am trying to use GIMP to edit this picture. But i think the white balance is wrong. I tried edit the white balance but the output look really weird. Can somebody advice step by step how to improve this pic? Really appreciate Also, The original picture size is 2560x1920 = 2.21MB. I used to scale the image to 800x600 = 284 KB Is this a good size for displaying the food picture to the web? Edited September 18, 201114 yr by bedummy
September 18, 201114 yr go into levels and move the right triangle to the end of the histogram (making the whites whiter) also it's quite badly framed but not much you can't about that 284 KB seems a little big - you could probably get it lower than that without losing much quality. September 19, 201114 yr Author also it's quite badly framed but not much you can't about that Thanks for the reply. When you mention badly framed, do you referred to the position and angle of shooting the photo? Can you share me what is the best position to take the cake? I have tried to apply what i have learnt from online. Getting some light.. shadow.. But the otuput of the picture don seems to be convincing tough..
September 19, 201114 yr because the cake is cut off on 2 sides - otherwise it looks good, but i'm only an amateur photographer
September 29, 201114 yr Author I have added a Question bar at the footer It looks very nice to fit my theme. http://www.lovingdessert.com/tarts/40-cheese-tart.html
September 29, 201114 yr Author I have a question on the frame border visibility. Check out my site - http://www.lovingdessert.com/tarts/40-cheese-tart.html Then try to click on the "Add to cart" button. The image should slides from the original place towards the cart at the right sidebar. It is after i added the FRAME surrounding the cheesetart picture and the description, then it seems that the sliding image has been overlapped and hidden by the frame. It only visible after the frame.. Can anyone advice? i believe it plays with the index:999 ? but where should i put?
