United Hosting - Comparisons?

Featured Replies

Hello!

We use United Hosting accounts to host our clients websites as well as our own. They're relatively expensive in comparison to some other providers out there, but their support is absolutely remarkable. They're available 24 hours a day via email, and will respond within 2 minutes of any technical question. They're highly skilled and can fix any server or database issue instantly. Their hosting isn't just hosting, it's constant support at no additional cost.

Are there any other providers who compare to this, at a better price? Ideally I need to hear from people who have used United Hosting as well as another provider...

I don't think I'll leave United, just curious of their competition, if any!

yeah I doubt you will leave either, I'm sure you've earnt a nice discount with that post ;)

HA! People ask if I'm on commission with them all the time. :p I just highly recommend them, but would really love to hear about some providers who match their service. After all, money is money! :)

Jesus they are expensive. I think of 3 other UK hosts that offer far better prices than that and have great support.

Which are these, rallport? :) Cheers.

They are expensive true but if you look at value for money I would say they are very high on that scale. I know Matt (the owner) a bit and know he has built a solid business on providing a great service not just stacking them high and selling cheap.

not just stacking them high and selling cheap.

Indeed, any idiot can pile it high and sell it cheap, the web is bulging with those already, but look at how many actually provide things like telephone numbers and telephone support (Not just a sales)

...2 minutes? They're slipping a bit ;)

UH have always been one of the "hidden gems" in web hosting having built their business up by providing a solid reliable service rather than compete with silly prices and "all you can eat" hosts. The 2 others I know of are Flump.net (who also run 123reseller.co.uk and ukdedicated.co.uk) as sub brands, and Clook whom I've been with for donkeys of years. Clook's support tickets get answered (usually) a lot quicker than UH's...lol... 23 seconds is my quickest so far :)

Haha, thanks very much for everyone's replies on this! A "hidden gem" indeed! I'll take a look at those you mentioned, Blue. Cheers.

To the OP : If you are satisfied with your existing hosts services and support, I would really not recommend you to play around and leave them, just for the sake of lowering your budget.. yeah you can try with your other experimental websites with the other hosts and if you are satisfied its always a better option for you :)

Absolutely! I would never move all of my sites and my clients websites to another host to see what they're like! That's just asking for trouble, but like you've said, maybe experimenting with hosts could be an idea. :)

Authentic_Style, It's nice to see you've had a similar experience to us. Some hosts have very mixed reviews, whereas UH seem to be very strongly one sided in that they deliver exceptionally.
