Want to learn Jquery

Featured Replies

Hi i keep hearing about JQUERY. Can anyone push me in the right direction to learn more please. Anyone one know of any good tutorials?

Thanks in advance. :D

w3schools I'd start on here. If you are not already familial with javascript I take a look at that first then move onto jquery.

Sitepoint have an awesome book called Jquery from Novice to Ninja, check that out!

Also, I found picking a specific function and pulling it apart really helped.

I did this with scrollto (stick in to google you'll find it!)

Hi Shell, the two posts above my are great advice - do both of those :)

Also - just play around. Set up a local test site and just fiddle and try to break things. It really is the best way to learn.

You should try to understand the logic behind javascript and in turn, behind jquery. The logic is the important thing to get in my opinion. Which element does what; how should something be structured etc... just the basic concept behind the language will take you a long way :)

jQuery Fundamentals by Rebecca Murphy is great. The full book is published online under Creative Commons (and the source is even on Github):
