Hi, I am currently populating my latest Wordpress site. I was hoping for some feedback, both negative and positive. Personally I think it looks quite fresh and cool for an MP website! But that's just me, let me know what you think and what cool stuff I could possibly add. Cheers!

I must agree. If you are creating an official blog/site for this MP, accessibility is a must or he might get slated for it.

 

Would also agree it looks like a site expected to be for a MP... good thing... bad thing... depends on what the client is after.

I think structurally it is spot on for an MP, but there are a few design tweaks I would like to see.

 

1. The image in the header looks distorted/stretched oddly. This may be an issue with the image, or the sizing might be pulling it out of whack via css...

 

2. The social media icons look a bit pixelated around the edges. All in the detail, but I think that could be improved on.

 

3. Personal preference, but I would remove the blog-roll from the sidebar - it seems a pointless thing to have on a site like this

good i guess for now, bit early for important sites to go 'keep it real' and down with the people, id be getting worried if i was seeing MP's rap on there youtube videos,

but thanks for the feedback so far, I've taken aboard a few comments and will look at fine-tuning the graphics once I get all the content done.

 

Ive added some interactive live widgets to the sidebar and will think about implementing a header slideshow instead of the single image. This will make it less flat I feel

 

As for accessibility, I have the alt text, graceful degradation, mostly cross-browser compliance... I think it fares up quite well, no? Any suggestions for improvements?

I like the website. Concentrate on accessibility factor. Website should be made in respect of web 2.0. You have put video's in the website . But dont put more as website download time will increase.

the text in the header seems to have some messed up line height or something because it doesn't work properly

 

thumbnails are huge in some cases (over 2.5mb!)
