October 13, 200916 yr Hi Guys, Were doing an entire overhaul of Peartree at the minute and branching it into two. One for brand (peartree) for design and one (secret name) for hosting. Below is the design site (hosting one is still in dev but looks cool). This is the main page and the only page at the minute and is a result of about 4 hours work yesterday. Your thoughts and opinions would be greatly appreciated. The main image will probably not be there on the live site and instead a 3d title sequence made in After Effects with 3D cameras and all sorts of cool things Because of the file-size, the entire site will also be distributed via Content Delivery Network. http://www.peartreeuk.com/new/
October 13, 200916 yr I was going to say the team photos makes you all look like stick figures, or maybe you do look like that? Actually I like the graphic because it's not your run of the mill animation and looks fun! Suggestion - put the client login in the header, prominent, impressive to newbie clients? Not too keen on the Web/Graphic/Motion headings centered. Add a background colour, it's light grey here Other than that it's a good start... Edited October 13, 200916 yr by BlueDreamer
October 13, 200916 yr Author Haha there will be team photos on the Meet the Team Page! I was goign to keep that graphic and put it on the Meet The Team page I looked at putting the client login in the header however Ive seen far to many sites doing this and wanted to make something different. Why don't you like the sub-headings centered?
October 13, 200916 yr Haha there will be team photos on the Meet the Team Page! I was goign to keep that graphic and put it on the Meet The Team page Awww - go on keep it on the home page, it looks fab I looked at putting the client login in the header however Ive seen far to many sites doing this and wanted to make something different. Good point though I'll throw in the usability argument Why don't you like the sub-headings centered? In my eyes it loses the "balance" if you know what i mean
October 13, 200916 yr Wow, looks great! Definately like the team graphic - looks unique and sets your site apart from others. Only comment I have is that where the white space above the logo looks rough, I would make that the same all the way along the header if that makes sense. Other than that it looks good.
October 14, 200916 yr I agree with Alliance on the header bgimage. I like the "rough" appearance, but it should follow through all the way across the header. I can't decide on the centered headings that bluedreamer was speaking of. I wanna say I see what is being referred to, but it's not making itself apparent enough to send up any flags. Now, the background color that bluedreamer also spoke of I agree very strongly. For some reason, when loading your page, I literally sat and waited wondering why the background image wasn't loading. I felt a bit stupid afterwords, but that did throw a flag almost as if I felt the page appears unfinished with that gray behind the main content. try an off white or a white with some sort of texture (fine diagonal lines), maybe? Keep it up friend!
October 20, 200916 yr Call me old-fashioned, but I'd like to see more contrast between the text and the background. I'm finding the text a little hard to make out, as if it's washed out or it's got a piece of tracing paper over the top of it. It's also lacking in colour compared to your previous design, which does tend to make it a little less impressive. Nice design, it just doesn't pop out at me or encourage me to actually look any further in your web site. If you're selling your services you need to make your web site memorable, catchy, pleasing to the eye. It just looks a little too dull for my liking.
October 20, 200916 yr more contrast on the text - it looks nice but it's not very usable. analytic instead of analitic text breaks out the 3 white boxes when increasing text size it's good!
October 20, 200916 yr analytic instead of analitic Ya I picked that up too. Some of the text is a little faint and tough on the eyes on the bottom half
