September 4, 200917 yr ^ Yes it's all the file attachments that take up the bulk of the space. If you need to keep files, save them to your local computer first then delete from the email account.
September 6, 200917 yr What I do is I have my corporate emails forwarded to my gmail account. Since I have 10 email addresses for various purposes all piped into my Gmail, I tend to get rather high on the %. What I do is I make sure I have the files locally and I also go through and run a few filters to delete all the crap I didn't delete before. Also there is a gmail backup program that will download all of your gmail messages and what not and keep it locally. It saves it in a format that allows it to be reuploaded but it's nice so that you can open up another gmail account just for storage of old emails. The link is here: http://www.gmail-backup.com/
