Stevo got a reaction from insanepenguin in Another IE float problem....You've got a rogue div tag above the doctype:
<div id="main"> <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head> ...

Stevo got a reaction from lazytycoon in X-Factor lovers and haterstoo true, why don't they show real talents on prime TV, there's so many bands/artists/acts out there working really hard at what they do, why not give them some much needed exposure?
maybe Fry said it best in Futurama:
"smart shows make people feel stupid, and surprises make them feel scared"
gotta love futurama

Stevo got a reaction from bocaj in The best browserI find firefox best for testing (go firebug!), but it's sooooooo slow to load,
Chrome is much quicker on my machine, almost instant, so i use that for general browsing.

Stevo got a reaction from christian21 in Current page link styleHi christian,
you need to specify a separate class for your current links eg .LinksCurrent then place all of your styling for that state in that class.
one tip is to set cursor:default; in the current link state as it keeps the link clickable (which is useful sometimes to refresh/reset etc) but removes the little hand cursor link prompt.
A good PHP exercise is calling your main nav as an include and setting simple statements to do the work for you,
I haven't gone into detail as you might not be using PHP, let me know if it would be useful and I'll elaborate

Stevo got a reaction from lazytycoon in Cervical Caner Girl Dies?Just to reassure everyone a little bit, it was on the news today that the girl's death was not related to the cervical cancer jab, she had a tumour in her heart and lungs that had been growing for a while.
Just rotten luck.

the links are probably in the files or in the db as a new theme. Just reupload all the files

Stevo got a reaction from irn3rd in Recommend a graphics tabletI got one of the smaller Wacom Bamboo tablets, it works fine, and feels nice, but it was too small (I think I pretty much got the smallest one), and since I have a 22" screen I ended up just not using it.
I should have just forked out the bit extra for the slightly bigger model.

Stevo reacted to AJReading in Using the $_POST arrayYou could loop through the POST array and assign a variable for each item in the array, this would probably not be a good idea though as people could potentially post anything they want and start messing with your variables.
Perhaps this would be better than manually assigning each variable.
$form = array('Name', 'Address', 'Postcode', 'Etc'); foreach ($form as $field) { if (isset($_POST[$field])) { $$field = $_POST[$field]; } }
This will create $Name, $Address, $Postcode etc for you and on line 4 where the variables are defined you can use any clean up functions you may want to perform on the user input.
