August 16, 200917 yr Hello! I've been doing websites for about 2-3 months, so I'm quite new into this, but I'm trying to use web-safe colors for main color schemes. Does it make sense nowadays or I should stick to any color palette? I'm asking this because when I use some tools like Color Scheme Designer it gives out not web-safe colors. Is there similar tool with web-safe colors design? Also, should I use web-safe fonts as well (I mean fonts that are most often used in browsers)? Thanks.
August 16, 200917 yr I just make sure the file size is not too big, these days people use LCD wide screen monitors so you get high definition resolutions.... even like a couple of years ago i stopped using them. The fonts i would stick with however it depends on your web host chances are they will have a font library so that what you select on your web page will show in the browser regardless... i have used some not so common fonts and they always turnout how they should. Simple test - create a test page put a really obscure font and see if it works on a friends web browser who definitely doesn't have the font. Hello! August 16, 200917 yr web-safe colour is not relevant today. It was in the 90's when most monitors could only display 256 colours max - and PC and MAC only had a few common colours. What you do want to keep in mind is how the colours look for people that are colour-blind.

August 17, 200917 yr doh! I've been using web safe for ages thinking it was still a good idea ho-hum... You still find lots of HTML tutorials that regurgitate the old 'fact' from the world wild web of the 90's. Even schools still teach it....
