Hi, I'm looking for some ideas for css tutorials to put on my blog.

 

Is there anything you're struggling with or anything you would like me to go through / demonstrate?

Just write a 'How to start a site with CSS' tutorial with images and examples....

I agree with design arrow if you are going to start a tutorial blog you should start with the very basics CSS, and then move to more advanced things.

Nice idea I'll start on it today.

how about definition of what each different element can do?

 

eg the differences of positioning commands, uses of the different display methods....then for each of these you could have their usability in the different browsers and how to overcome them.

Agreed. First the basics. Demonstrating that every element can be styles. (I often see people use DIVs because they got no default style)

A tutorial on positioning would probably be good. It's a reoccurring question. Especially the relationship between absolute positioned elements when they're nested in other positioned elements.

Different layouts using CSS would be helpful, i.e: how to do fluid, fixed or variable.

Maybe some tuts on creating horizontal and vertical menus using unordered lists and applying some basic styling? Many folks still struggle with this apsect.

Nice blog, which icons are you using or did you make them?

Perhaps use CamTasia and create a live video, brand it with your URL then wack it on all the video sites... instant traffic...

@DesignArrow: I've got Adobe Captivate on my work computer, I'll do some video tutorials if I get a minute.

 

 

@BadMotherz: I'm planning on going through doing a complete layout, from creating it in photoshop, coding it in XHTML/CSS and then coding it into wordpress.

 

@BoylesWebDesign: Its a free wordpress layout for now until I get some time to do my own (paid work goes first lol) but I'm 99.9% sure they're the Silk Icons from FamFamFam. My personal favourite icons ever and they're free!

Good stuff, I see you got some positive comments already Maybe you could do a version2 that includes adding background images with :link, :visited, :hover, and :visited states? Future content idea!
