July 26, 200917 yr Is there any F1 fans in here? I know a lot of people find it boring just seeing cars go round and round, but I actually love it! Especially in the last few years I have got really into (since my first live race at silverstone really). At one point when I was younger I wanted to be an F1 driver, but now I have more sense, and don't really fancy crashing at 100+ mph With that also thoughts go to Massa, hope he makes a speedy recovery! So any fans, who's your favourite driver? Unlike football I find Formula One a sport where I like racers even if they are rivals. I dont really have a favourite, just support the British drivers a bit more than the others.
July 26, 200917 yr Yeah, wishes with Massa and his family. I love F1, the whole strategy side of things especially. Fav driver is defo Lewis, and today made me super happy. I know how he felt when things where going bad and how he had to deal with it and also how he feels now he is winning. So I kind of relate to him... +1 for moto gp as well, its a little more full on and exciting. And it pretty funny how when they need new tyres they just swap bikes, that made me laugh today
July 27, 200917 yr @Helen you may be jealous to know I spent Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Donnington with a pit lane pass Also watched the F1 and qualifying (Sky plus ftw). I nearly spat my beer out watching massa get smashed with a spring =\
July 27, 200917 yr Author TBH, I'm a Moto gp fan..... couldn't really get in to F1 I'm the opposite haha I tried getting into MotoGP and British Superbikes after I saw some race at Brands Hatch but for some reason just didn't have same appeal.
July 27, 200917 yr I love F1. Hubby's fault as I used to hate it .... I like Button best cos he's a) British Yummy c) Not too goody good like Hamilton I like to think I know a bit more about F! the average girly but prob not half as much as some guys know. Yeah I never liked Massa much but that's poo that of all the places the spring could go was into his skull. Quite scary when you see early coverage of F! when they didn't wear helmets; that would have been REALLY nasty!
July 28, 200917 yr Good to hear Massa is ok now Also it should be an interesting second half of the season, most people( including me ) thought Jenson would run away with it... With Red Bull and McLaren (finally back on form) it could go right down to the wire again !
July 29, 200917 yr WWWOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAHHHHHHHH Micheal Vs Lewis = A whole load of awesomenessssssssssssss
July 29, 200917 yr Yh read that ealier, great news Will be interesting to see if Michael still has it !
July 29, 200917 yr As long as he doesnt try to use his OAP buscard, we will be fine. Used to love watching formula 1 when i was a kid, especially M schumacher but since ive grown up, i switched to bikes, now having my own (only a little 125 til january when im going to jump to a 1000+) i prefer to go out riding than watching others. Reaper
July 29, 200917 yr Nope, just cant get into motor sport in general, I think the subtlety and strategy goes straight over my head, I have tried to watch it but soon become bored. my sport of choice is boxing and have been watching a lot of MMA recently to tide me over between fights.
July 29, 200917 yr Author Yh read that ealier, great news Will be interesting to see if Michael still has it ! Haha was reading "the london lite" on the way home today and saw an article saying that one of the bosses in ferrari stated that he was 200% sure that Schumacher wouldn't race as Massa's replacement. Got home logged on to bbc site "Schumacher makes shock F1 return!". Although don't really think its that much of a shock, said to my dad when it happened that he'd take over the for rest of season. I loved seeing Michael race, will be very interesting him vs lewis now that McLaren seem to have a decent car at last!

July 29, 200917 yr Author Yup yup! I love the street races, I dunno why but they just seem more fun! When I went to the South of France a year or two ago, we went on a tour of the Monaco Grand Prix, twas awesome Valencia, Monaco and Singapore, they the only street races?
July 29, 200917 yr Yh they seem to test the drivers more which always makes for more exciting racing And yh I think they are the only street circuits this season.. *Drools over prospect of a London Street Circuit*
July 30, 200917 yr If we have a london street one, can we throw all the MP's that claimed too much expenses infront of the cars? "They will give you a free ride - dont forget to put it on your expenses as first class"
July 30, 200917 yr I've never really been into sports because my parents aren't and my family aren't, but my girlfriend of 2 and a half years has a Father who is really into sports, one of which is Formula 1, so being around him has made me get into Rugby, F1 and Cricket but mostly Rugby and Formula 1, unfortunately the only races that I missed (because I was busy) were Hungary & Germany.
July 30, 200917 yr Yh I like the idea of Gordon Brown clinging on for dear life to the back of Michael Schumacher's Ferrari as it speeds across Tower Bridge...
July 30, 200917 yr I've got a feeling Schuey wont do that well because they will have to modify the car for him also he's been out of it for a couple of seasons and his last season wasnt that great either. its going to add a real bit of intrest to the races now though! by the way I think F1 coverage is somuch better on the BBC this year with David Coulthard and Eddi Jordan presenting!! But the other guy is a bit of an idiot I think? dunno what his name is. Hope Jenson can get it back together for the rest of the season!
July 30, 200917 yr Author Schumacher is good, but whether he can compete with people who have been racing competitively more recent then him is an issue we will found out in the next few weeks I agree, without the ad breaks as well that always annoyed me. I hate adverts, ironically at one point I wanted to go into advertising Interesting thing this year is that its a tale of two halves. Jenson was clearly running away with it, now red-bull look to be strong, but Mclaren do too... getting exciting!!! I hope Schummy doesn't pull any more stunts like he did against Damon Hill to stop him winning.. was a big fan of Damon Hill
July 30, 200917 yr I saw Michael Schumacher's yacht in Alcudia once, just amazing. It was grey with black tinted windows and a massive wherever he is from Flag (Hungary, German? Something strict régime sounding)
July 30, 200917 yr I remeber seeing Nigel Mansel's yacht once years ago just after he retired. it was huge!! Need to sell a lot of designs to get that thing!!! then youve got to pay for the staff to live on it!
July 30, 200917 yr Author Germany On the topic of Yachts, you haven't seen any til you seen Ambramoviches! http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/worldnews/article-1192640/Admiral-Abramovich-launches-300million-mega-yachtski-The-worlds-biggest-submarine.html
July 30, 200917 yr If you've got enough money to buy a yacht, you'll have enough money to pay for staff haha. One of Gordon Ramsay's first jobs was working on a yacht going around the world, cooking food for the owners who were very rarely even on it. Anyway, we're digressing. I disagree that Michael Schumacher is going to be rubbish, I don't think he's going to go for the win, I think he's just going to get the practice in as much as he can and drive, old school around the track.
July 30, 200917 yr Thats true Schueys no risk taker he's more controlled than to risk it all when ferarri are already down a driver!! I have to say I was pleased for Lewis Hamilton but it did feel a bit more like a win by chance than by skill or better car. he did incredibly last season but somthing tells me losing this year will teach him more!!!!
August 11, 200917 yr Schumacher calls off F1 comeback Michael isn't rejoining F1 because a neck injury caused by a Bike Accident and he doesn't think it could stand up to the stresses of F1..
August 11, 200917 yr Author Schumacher calls off F1 comeback Michael isn't rejoining F1 because a neck injury caused by a Bike Accident and he doesn't think it could stand up to the stresses of F1.. Tis a shame
August 11, 200917 yr With little time to find a replacement for Massa, who is recovering at home in Brazil, from the serious head injuries he suffered during qualifying for the Hungarian GP, Ferrari have named Badoer as Kimi Raikkonen's team-mate in Valencia. After a decade as a test driver for the team the 38-year-old Italian is himself returning to racing after a long absence.
August 12, 200917 yr ^ Yh although it's not been officially announced yet ( as far as I know ) everyone seems to think he will be joining Ferrari next year. Will be interesting to see what he can do with a more reliable car
August 12, 200917 yr I used to be into F1. But my interest faded with the reign of Schumacher. I miss the old days of Ayrton Senna and Nigel Mansel. Monaco anyone?
September 4, 200917 yr Oh dear looks like lewis will concetrating on damage control rather than winning the championship this year. and as for Button, well lets just hope he can get some points next week!!
September 4, 200917 yr I too love the F1 (just a shame I don't get to watch it anymore). Don't really have a favourite driver, I just support McLaren.
September 11, 200917 yr I'm well into F1. I've been a big Button fan for years now, I always knew there was something there (maybe there is, maybe not) -either way it's been an exciting season. I've been working in New York since June so I've missed ALL summer races. Just watched Italy practice on BBC, I can't wait to watch it this weekend
September 11, 200917 yr Looks like I'm going to miss this race but an hour of highligts on BBC3 will suffice!
