Why so big?

Featured Replies

Too many designers working on 24" Macs and a huge screen resolution I suspect :)

Saying that most of the sites audience are likely to be on huge monitors so it's probably well targetted?

I sometimes work on a 32" LCD TV so that could possibly lead me into similar problems, although i do check it on the laptop later.

Even if i don't always test on lower res, i do at least compare the look to other major websites so i am aware of the average website appearance. I personally dislike big sites more than ones that are too small although not sure i have seen any that are... any examples of a too small website?

Ah i think I saw this before.... http://dot16.pixeltemple.com

Just to annoy everybody who is messing on the net at work and has a teeny teeny teeny browser window open so nobody in the office knows what they are up to.

Did you know hat the average office worker spends at least 15 mins a day doing personal stuff on the office internet?

Who's Hat?

Hat, the average office worker?

And what's he doing spending precious minutes doing personal stuff?

What's all this crazy talk?

FREE HAT!

Just kidding, I can imagine. I think I spend at least four hours a day doing personal stuff on the office internet.

I actually think that the goal is with fewer words it's much easier to match keywords to content

Touché. I think one thing they are trying to do is to reach a certain target market, which is designers like us, who expect to see large websites. But honestly, I don't want it. Bigger isn't better.

And that's coming from somebody who's well endowed.

Or it could be for us old dears who's eyes aren't what they used to be!
