Do any of the hosting companies active on the forum have a non-bank-breaking single-site account on a server that can actually run Wordpress at something other than snails pace and that they can set me up with sharpish?

 

Ideally if the service works as I need it too I'd want to upgrade to a reseller, but I've had such bad experience with so many hosts & I'm really lacking in time so can't move all my sites over at the moment. Just really want to get my personal site onto a server that can serve a page in under 10 seconds...

We do, our 50mb plan wont break the bank and can be setup "sharpish", like in 10 minutes max and our servers are uber quick..

Oh, and if your short on time, we can transfer your sites over for you and you can leave it all to us.

 

We dont do reseller accounts though.

Again, i've never used wesh personally, but i wouldn't doubt them for a second. I know for a fact they've hosted some pretty big sites effectively, which is a demonstration to the capabilities of there servers.

Your needs are pretty straightforward. I'd recommend drawing up a shortlist, firing off some questions to those on your list and asking if they have any showcase sites that you can check the speed of. Then choose the one that most suitably impresses you with their service and timely response.

I have been using http://www.ukhost4you.com/ for about three years now and host around ten sites under a reseller account. I haven't found anyone cheaper for the reseller or domain names and have found their support to be excellent. They charge £5 a month for a basic reseller account which I think is pretty good. I couldn't tell you their server response time but I have run wordpress very successfully in the past (although I don't use it anymore)
