Hi all.

 

I have designed a website in html, however it is a store, so I have just installed OS Commerce on my server.

 

Do I have to go through and edit each piece of PHP supplied by the OS Commerce in order to make it look like my site???

 

Being that I'm fairly new to PHP, are there no easier ways?

Take my advice and ditch OSC- it's very outdated, "probably" insecure, and it's a lot lot harder to modify the look than modern carts.

 

If you do want to continue with it then yes, you'll have to wade through every php file and modify as you wish. Probably not all the files will need to be modified though, it really depends hwo you want the site presented and structured.

(Sorry to jump in so hard there...)

 

If you have os-commerce installed, stick with it. - Look for all updates for it at their website.

 

Also, there is a mod on their forum which allows a quick skin/template system.

 

I'm not saying there is anything wrong with zend cart - but oscommerce is easily as good & it's not out of date.

wait up isnt zen cart an off shoot of oscommerse and very similar or have i gotten the wrong end of the stick somewhere

As far as I am aware, Zen cart is identical to CubeCart, just runs on a portable zend platform instead.
