October 15, 200817 yr When I moved from one of the UKs largest hosting companies, I was looking for a host that could not only offer me the technical specification I needed, but also one who would give the kind of customer support I had become comfortable with. I trialled a few hosting companies whilst I decided and it was Peartree that ticked all the right boxes for me. I took a quad core dedicated server and from day 1, Rob has been amazingly helpful above and beyond what would be considered 'the norm' and has always been on hand to help out with any issues. I've not experienced any problems with the hosting platform and am delighted with the 100% uptime so far! I would strongly recommend Peartree to any Freelancers or Web Studios who are looking for a great hosting platform backed-up with excellent customer care. If anyone needs any more info about them, then please feel free to drop me a PM!
October 15, 200817 yr Thanks for posting your review - it's always good to see positive reviews of any host.
October 15, 200817 yr To be honest I'm not surprised - Peartree's offering looks good (as does the site) and Rob comes across as a straight-shooter who knows his stuff. Ditto on what Bluedreamer said - it's great for the rest of us to hear from happy campers!
October 16, 200817 yr how much is Peartree charging for a dedicated server? should have put a link in your post! lol I am currently itching to move from streamline aka fasthosts! i have two sites that are performing slowly and are accessed at a semi-high traffic rate day to day... so say his developer package - is that on a dedicated server? servers is something I still haven't got my head round but I know dedicated = good! any words from Peartree? also, the transfering of domains etc is osmething that scares me - just feels like something will f up and how much downtime ca one expect to eperience during the process of moving etc...
October 16, 200817 yr how do I find out my current monthly bandwidth? as yours ave restrictions but with streamline it is unlimited
October 16, 200817 yr To be perfectly honest none of our customers have ever came close to using 5 terrabytes of bandwidth... You need to get over the unlimited stuff - its not real would be nice though On a side note: Yes that is 5 terrabytes guaranteed to you and not oversold - you can also burst to the full 100mbps port
October 16, 200817 yr how do I find out my current monthly bandwidth? as yours ave restrictions but with streamline it is unlimited So they say nothing is unlimited, I think streamline cap it but I can't remember at what amount.
October 16, 200817 yr I can't justify paying for a dedicated server... but I am interested in your normal hosting packages - just because I hate streamline.... the other thing is... I have wordpress installations how do I transfer databases etc...
October 16, 200817 yr Wordpress databases can be transferred by doing an SQL dump and then uploading it on our servers to a selected database via PHPMyAdmin
October 19, 200817 yr Ah yeah, I'll echo Paul's praise of PeartreeUK - I've now been hosted with them for over 3 months now (VPS) and everything is going smoothly. Rob is a great person to deal with. I highly recommend PeartreeUK - here's my original post about them: http://www.webdesignerforum.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=10601
October 19, 200817 yr as yours ave restrictions but with streamline it is unlimited With hosts that offer "unlimited" what they usually mean is "you can use as much as you want unless we thing you're using too much" - if you dig deep into their T & C's you will find lots of restrictions with these sort of hosts.
October 19, 200817 yr It seems like a really good host, I could use it for my business. Probably going to use them when my year subscription with No-Wires finishes!!
