October 14, 200818 yr *The post will disappear in to the black void of the intenet never to be seen again until some hapless soul (probably me) will type in to Google the exact same question that you asked and your post will magically appear in the search results. I will eagerly click on the link only to find that nobody answered your question.* Which post? Posts get overlooked quite a bit. I tend to look at the latest posts since I was last on the forum and don't have the time to look at every single one. I'm sure other people are the same. I'm sure you'll get a response in the fullness of time
October 14, 200818 yr ditto to elanman. I would just bump it up at a different time from when you originally posted it. Just I wouldn't do that more than once
October 14, 200818 yr If a post is left unanswered for a few days then give it a bump by just posting in it. As Elanman has said posts can sometimes be over looked. Just don't do what some people do which is expect an answer within a couple of hours and bump it 5 times a day as that's annoying and we will delete them (that was more for those that do that and not you )
October 14, 200818 yr This forum is amazing for useful and friendly responses. True, posts sometimes slip by especially when the forum's buzzing with 3 or 4 other hot topics, but I think the first thing people should do before bumping is look at what they posted as that's usually the give away: "I want my page top of Google how?" "Tell me all the ways to improve my business" "I think [blah] is critical and my company just happens to do [blah cheaply]" "Give me your secrets" Personally I will ignore every post in the SEO part of the forum that is either a blatant piece of self promotion or that, in one line, asks for someone to list everything about SEO possible.
October 15, 200818 yr If your post doesn't get answered after a reasonable length of time (24-48 hrs??) feel free to bump your thread.... However I STRONGLY suggest that if you need to bump your thread, you probably need to provide some more info, or rethink your question. Therefore bump your thread with something more than just "anyone????"... Bump it with a rephrased question and more info (links, code, solutions you've tried) you might find that helps
