As the topic says, my 4th Xbox 360 has got the dreaded 3 red rings of death! That's right my 4th Xbox, they havn't even been out for 3 years yet and in 2-3 weeks i'll be on my 5th one!!!!!!!!!!

How are Microsoft still producing them? Are they better? Still the Same? I know they got the elite edition that is meant to be better, but come on 4 failed Xboxs is just crazy!

And get this, because of the inconvenience of not have an Xbox for 3 weeks (even thou i was going to sell it tonight!) they are going to give me a 1 month Live Gold Membership.

Ok... Stop flashing them and letting them overheat?

They can't be so badly made you can break 4 within 3 years and not be valid for any warranty what do you do to them?

OWCH, #2 for me seems to be OK touch wood...it's an old one now though.

We have 2 in the house and touch wood, they seem to be behaving themselves.

Still can't believe microsoft make you pay to play online though.

on my third, first was covered under warranty, second the cd drive + laser cinked out otuside warranty.

i think by now (fingers crossed) they have sorted most of the issues - e.g. the naff glue on the gfx cards. additionally new processors are faster - not sure which have these though.

:flm7:

My DVD drive stopped working a while back, sent it off it took 13 days and U got a free month of Live. I don't really play online I use my PC for that.

"Touch wood"? :unknw:

I'm on my second they replaced the DVD drive as well as the motherboard even though I wasn't aware there was a problem with my dvd drive.

Has been fine since and quieter.

Only took Microsoft 5 days to take it from me send it to Germany, fix it and send it back. Fantastic service.

Playstation RULES! :D

True true

Gutted mate, I'm on my 3rd one now... It seems to be holding up, unfortunately the 2nd broke as soon as I took it out of the box. The 360 is still an unbelievable machine though ;).

I'm on my second one now. Well it's actually my first, just fixed, refurbished and sent back to me. I'm worried how long it'll last this time though..

There's a good article about the problem and its causes here.

Any Lawyers in the house wishing to give me advice on where i stand legaly on 5 fault £300 electronic devices.

is there something in your house that fuxors them?

I have had one from about 3 months after they came out, and apart from occasional (like 3 times a day, if I play for 10 hours solid) disk read errors, I have had no problems.

Are you playing on it in a really warm room or something?

No this is the 4th house i'm living in, and the Xbox sits on the floor with nothing around it.

I've had a 360 since about April. I did have the 3 rings of death once and I thought "uh oh", but I think it was just the power block (that great big thing on the power cable) overheating and it has been fine.

They cant change it because if they do people who have just renewed there account will moan that they just spent money on it!

It must be more than just bad luck that means some people have faulty Xbox's and others use theirs without issue.
