To my mind your site looks slick and clean. So, you are complaining about getting no traffic (you say hits but I think you mean visitors). Ok, to be honest, I wonder that you get some traffic at all. Where does the traffic come from? Google? If yes, which keywords? If these keywords are not graphic, website design or any kind of design related then its very obvious why you dont get any conversions. What you have to do first is: 1. You have to know who your target audience is! For that simply go the free Adwords tool and type in your main keywords so you get a feeling which keywords bring how much traffic plus you will see a lot of other suggestions: https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal 2. I urge you NOT to concentrate on the big keywords like "web design". These are too difficult to optimize (or too expensive if you want Adwords ads) AND they do convert much worse! Concentrate on long tail keywords like "affordable web design" or "webdesign + your city" After that you can do SEO and build backlinks. Step by step you will (hopefully) climb up and get some TARGETED traffic which could lead to much better conversions.

I just want to tell all of you that the keyword density rule of 5-7% is not uptodate anymore. It is told that 2.5% keyword density is the way to go, it also sounds more natural when you read something like this. but if you made good experience so far with your old approach go with it, never change a winning team.

avera is right, your site needs more backlinks and more time to grow, its still a child based on backlinks. but I can give you one fast solution which could help you: do social bookmarking (digg.com, misterwong.com, reddit.com, fark.com and many more) but pay attention to write down your desired keyword in the "title" section of those SB sites. find about 20 SB sites and post your site on it. wait some days or sometimes weeks and check your rankings again. the keyword "car valeting milton keynes" has very little competition, you should get your desired results (in most cases) quite fast. btw, are you sure you get enough traffic from this keyword, I checked it and it shows about 100 searches per month.

did i understand you correctly that you began with the seo work for your site one month ago? if yes then this is a common incident on google. if your site is new you first get good rankings for certain not so competitive keywords and then your sites rankings decrease sometimes your whole homepage disappears from google. you have to be more patient, build your backlinks and add new content, then your ranlkings will increase.

you forgot 3): writing 100 articles and submitting them to 100 different article directories. the advantage: you will have 100 unique articles where you will get 100 backlinks from different sites which means that you would get 100 real backlinks. keep in mind to put your keyword into the linktext of your articles in the resource box.
