I see you are using DIVs and CSS. Keep on playing with the CSS attributes to change how the page looks. This will be a good thing to work on next. If you can control the CSS more, it will help to build your visual design style.

I didn't like the telephone icon. I like the use of PICTURES which conveys the message instantly. It should make a nice small business website.

7/10 The jet black look could work but I think you need to work on the CSS fonts and spacing some more to make it have a jam-packed gaming website feel to it. Also, the drop downs are cool looking but remember some gamers want their menus to pop up fast (1ms), because gamers think fast and move fast... For navigation I would stick with the proven titling like - by System - by Game Title - Reviews - Previews...it's just how people identify it as a strong gaming website. nice styuff keep it up

Well the haven games one looks how any flash based online games website typically looks in terms of bright colors and amazing fonts. The main site looks more like its oriented for console gamers in terms of the graphical approach.

That's a pretty nice blog you got started. I'd keep on posting new recipes. As for getting it popular, you need a lot of content before it even begins to catch real attention. Secondly you are going to need to promote it somehow - try the supermarket because the people there will know about cooking. Maybe you could get some fans there if you interact with the public in some way. I would do that only after at least 25 great posts though... As for the focus of the website, make it clear from now...I think you should only post recipes, and not worry about the rant/rave section, or include a rant/rave paragraph with each recipe to make it a fun read. Each post should be a recipe title though, and follow a single format. Some things I would consider: Include 1 picture of every end result of the dish, and that will get you more attention. This should be easy to do. Look at possibly starting a video blog...it's a lot more work to produce a video, but everyone loves good videos to demonstrate.

A question for Richard. Would you recommend Google Picasa for artists to host their images (assuming the website front end took care of displaying the images)? What's the issue at hand?

Why not have 2 websites, 1 for a business image, 1 for a personal freelancer image. I think the freelance oriented route promotes your personal name and skills more so than offer customer friendliness. The business name route puts service first, and lets the customer assume you are skilled at the job. Together they increase your web presence...

I like the overall layout and colors used, and it has a earth 2.0 website feel to it. I didn't read the logo too well and almost missed it. The font/spacing and color of it makes it hard to read.

I'd love to see a banner with 100's of pidgeons in it, all staring at you with 1 eye. That would make my day, and probably draw more attention. EDIT: If you have a camera, it shouldn't be hard to find a flock of pidgeons...

3000+ photos definitely calls for a CMS or some automated way of handling and organizing them.

Can someone tell me if the site displays correctly in IE7? I only have IE8... I just saw what it looks like in IE6 and it's a not good...

UPDATES - July 8, 2009 - http://www.menus.net.ky I remade the whole layout using WordPress. I'm not really sure what will go on the front page or on the sidebar yet. If you were a tourist or local...what would you like to see?

How about letting them adopt something like Google Picasa for managing photos into albums and uploading them, and then having them automatically display on the website? Haven't done this yet myself but it's something I'd like to try.

I suppose I could redirect to the RSS feed if IE6 is capable of rendering it correctly. I stand my ground Redmond - surrender!! EDIT: I do understand what is at hand here though. Blocking IE6 users is quite a statement especially for a simple website that delivers some simple information. However, there is a bigger reason at play here. Although it is absurd to be forced to upgrade, such is the nature of the technology life cycle. We will always face change if we wish to move forward. It's the same with the automobile industry...cars just aren't the same anymore. IE6 was released in 2001, almost 10 years ago.

Is it an actual cruise or a travel service/agency? It felt strange seeing a CG cruise ship floating by. I would use some real pictures to help with the message. Also if it's about travel, it would be nice to see some names of Destinations.
