Online banking system using php and MySQL
You might like to download an open source script called badger finance to get some ideas: http://www.badger-finance.org The current download is an alpha version and is for a single user only. They've been promising a multi user script for several years now, but there seems to be no progress there, maybe you could further develop the script? Also, you might like to test another open source script called mybanco: http://mybanco.org. (not tried that one myself yet, but it looks quite good)

Good Domain Registrars ?
Crazy domains have been around for quite a while now, so they're probably reliable enough. I have several domain names with them and so far no problems. I think the most important thing with domain registrars is to read their small print carefully. Some companies such as Go-daddy are very prompt to sell off your .com if you're late renewing, and late renewals are quite common. Make sure you get a good idea of what their renewal policy is, a good company would normally allow you to go one month over without incurring any extra cost, and some companies will extend that to 2months. After that, you may find yourself paying around 80 pounds extra to get your name back, but companies such as Go daddy promptly sell your domain names to cyber squatters, the worse thing that can happen, as they'll sit on your name for years. Just read the small print to help make up your mind.

Advice for hosting a group of sites
Dedictaed servers are not necessarily expensive, have you tried OVH? They do their Kimsufi range from around 4 pounds per month!

Hosting clients sites?
I would certainly go for the reseller option because it gives you the choice of managing your clients sites yourself, or handing it over to them. If they manage themselves, you still earn extra for providing the account. A cpanel reseller can cost you as little as 15 dollars per month, roughly equivalent to £9.30.

Advice on hosting
Having tried around 40 hosts over 6 years, I can honestly say that you can't go wrong with hostgator. Most hosts these days are much the same, but hostgator has a great support system, and fast too. Also, I currently have a reseller with greengeeks, their support is superb.

Webmail
I find that an odd choice, my experience with roundcube is a boring interface and problems reading mail, such as not displaying mail properly, and not displaying html. I'd prefer to get the smtp/pop or imap settings from my host and use outlook express instead! If you have a spare 15 minutes, do give Uebimau a try, it's got a great interface and is actually better than yahoo mail. You could always uninstall it if you didn't like it, but I'm sure it's just what you're looking for!

[New Shop] Domain Name Registration
Well the link you gave has been removed for violating tiny url's terms and conditions, and anyway I can't see why anyone would want to purchase a sub domain.

Hosting - with client access to their own database / control panel?
If you're still looking for a solution, why not rent a reseller account? This way you can give all your clients their own cpanel log in, and if you create sites for others, you could earn a bit extra for including hosting too.
