On my websites I am getting 60% traffic from chrome, nearly 20% from Mozilla Firefox and remaining from opera and safari and IE. So in my view chrome will dominate browsing market. But as long as we are getting traffic from ie and Firefox we have to make website compatible with them also.

You can go for google site or blogspot or wordpress. Where you will only have to pay for domain name. You can also search for free web hosting. Many companies are providing free web hosting. If you are ready to pay $4-5 per month you can find many hosting services.

Many people I know are living from affiliate marketing. At the beginning most people are afraid of failure but if you stick to it, you will make money.

I am going to show you few points that you can consider while doing seo on website. 1. Make website with atleast 25 pages. 2. Try to include atleast 1000 words on every page. 3. Try to include maximum related information you know about topic. 4. Try to include related images and videos. 5. Make sure to use proper header and title tag. 6. Do not write only for search engine. Just think that you are reader and you judge the content that way your reader judge. 7. Write something from your personal experience. 8. Make disclaimer and contact pages. 9. Make bullet points. 10. Get backlinks from related contents using forum marketing, article marketing, guest posts. 11. Continuously update your website. 12. Use better graphics and design. 13. Be openand show your content to your targeted audience.

I think wordpress , joomla and drupal are best. You can use any of them depending on your requirement.

Navigation , design and color combination is good but very less content.
