Just power read this thread. You admitted you made the mistake by offering half the payment and in return you handed over the site. Yes he is being unreasonable and aint gonna pay the rest, but not worth persuing. At least you got something from him. One thing I have learnt, never sue a moron (enter your own swaering reference to suit!) even over £350. Take it on the chin as a lesson learnt. However, if you have the upperhand of hosting the site, couldn't you sell the domain name or change the FTP settings so he can't upload it? If he comes back and has a problem, you can say 'where's my money then?'. Thats what I would do though lol. Don't try this at home kids!

Website up and running! Turned out the host turned off my permissions to access the httpdocs folder. Doh! www.burytheatreworkshop.org.uk it needs some touching up, but looks good on my monitor. I will have to adjust the right-hand margin so the text doesn't run up to the edge of the screen. I do need to know why my formtoemail.php isn't working right. Can someone help please?

I know your a iPhone man but if you go for an Android phone I am sure you won't need to change the SIM. I have had my Samsung Galaxy Note 2 for a day now and love it, despite I had to change SIM to a MICRO-SIM I still kept the same number. Never has been changed since I was 17! You shouldn't have a problem with Android as long as you keep updating it and clearing its internal memory from time to time. That's what I found anyway.

Update - Have fixed the bugs. Tried to upload through FileZilla again with no avail. It seems I am having trouble connecting to the Host despite I am able to sign in. Most folders do have a question mark over them though. Not sure if that is relavent to the problem? Also, httpdocs folder still has the error message 'Directory listing failed'. I am still waiting to hear back from the host. I am now deciding that I should drown my sorrows down the local, spent all night / most of this morning scratching my head!

Thanks for the welcome! Bury st Eds, great place to be. I have downloaded FileZilla, but have problems still. I am assuming it is a hosting problem. Waiting to here back.

Cheers Fran! Restarted etc etc. went back into the httpdocs folder and a red line drops down reading 'Error Failed to retrieve directory listing'. The only thing that loads is the index! www.burytheatreworkshop.org.uk is the result. I am beginning to think there is a problem with the FTP server from the domain supplier? Could be wrong...

Yip, just downloaded it cheers! Do I have to manually update it if I have to make edits / changes to the site? Edit: Have a message saying that all files failed to transfer. I have a critical transfer error. Clearly I screwed something up in the design process? Sorry about all this, I am a noob!

I am currently emailing my FTP host who uses Apache. He may have altered something or I am missing something my end. I remember Dreamweaver CS4 telling me the images folder is missing within /httpdocs/ location.

Hi fellow designers! My name is Luke and I have been a graphic designer for 5 years now, based at a family print company and have gained so much knowledge through the Adobe Creative Suite. Main programs that I am most efficient in are InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and Premiere Pro. I originally intended to get into Film making, but gave up searching and followed the path of design, which I had a little knowledge through education. My other hobbies include, playing in my bands (Bass player), cigar collecting/smoking, volleyball and golf. Recently, I have been getting back into web design - not much of a code breaker, hence I use Dreamweaver as I can learn code by splitting the screen. I am going to be cheeky and ask for advice and urgent help now. I have roped myself into designing a web site for a new Am Dram company and really need to get the site uploaded by end of the week, but I have no idea what is going on. I did a slap job of a 'main site coming soon' page a while ago to keep the committee happy but have no idea how I managed to do it. Now I am getting nowhere in uploading this site! I attach a screenshot of the problem. Oh yeah, the testing server and remote server don't seem to have anything uploaded into the /httpdocs/ folder, I am pretty sure one of these were full last time I managed to upload. Sorry to sound like a noob, I really am trying! Thanks! Luke
