Hi all, I recently built a small e-commerce website for a client and it was running nicely, the client paid on time. suddenly we had a malware alert, and it had infected all of our files, the client checked and his host had allowed a virus onto our shared hosting, so we had to set up on a NEW secure server which we have done. The client is now asking me to rebuild the website at no charge, should the host be compensating the me or the client because I find this unfair. We had a contract for building the website, not for anything else. I know I'm within my rights to say NO, but I don't want to fall out with the client, should I be asking to be paid again or what are your thoughts?

I use www.printcoloruk.com, yes their website is awful, but the prices are superb and I've known them for 15 years and they've never let me down! They use high quality materials so not to let customers down.

I always start with pen/pencil and paper, and move onto the computer when I have something ready that I and the client like the look of. I don't do many logos, but I use Illustrator usually, it takes some getting used to if you're used to photoshop, but it's a great tool!

Fair enough and i wouldnt do the groupon course because ive learnt here that its not worth it but you charge £495 right? Theyre offering the world for £99 so its gonna be hard to compete. Good luck though! :-)

Apologies if this is the wrong place. ive recently been asked to design an ebay store for my client which i am completely new to, he wants a nice simple layout with a clean look. where do i start? The ebay templates are honestly ugly so i dont want to go there lol. sorry for the bad grammar too im on my phone typing!

I use mailchimp, which has served me well and I've increased sales using it, but I'm sure there is better available!

Okay I may as well ask in here, I'm looking for somewhere to host my own website, with probably 10 pages at most, with a portfolio I will build up, I also want it to be compatible with Joomla, Wordpress and Ecommerce software, php etc. Can you offer this? Hi Guys, Thanks for the great replies, to be honest right now I'm probably best to get my own website hosted, and like you said help clients choose a hosting package, because I haven't got many, so finacially it makes sense to get a cheaper priced package until I need something more substantial, or start reselling. It's true too, I don't want to learn about servers really, I want to learn my web design! Can you recommend any hosting packages that I could host my own and test a couple of websites too, or is there a thread about this? Thanks
