Hello all, When you need a stock photo for your designs, were is the place you get them? Why there? I am looking for a cheaper distributor than iStock.

I am working on my site, Admin Insider (http://insider.adminempower.net/) and I have run into a dilemma and I need some advice. I have a passion to create good user experiences and I want to develop a community where passionate visionaries can empower each other. However, I am well aware that if you follow a passion you need to monetize it for it to be sustainable. My idea behind Admin Insider is to provide a source where admins can go to learn how to build awesome communities. So I want to build a really dependable source of high quality content. However, I would love if other Admins join me in sharing their know-how. How do I create a blog with really great content Admin's will love, written by other Admins and still monetize it while being fair to those who help out? I have thought about revenue sharing, but in my opinion, the best content is generated not when people look to monetary gain but rather when they have a passion to empower others.

In your opinion what are the traits of a good logo? Please also share if you work with a logo design company or if you are an enthusiast.

I used it three times on community sites and each time it created real errors for many users and decided to block people who are not spammers.

Get someone to teach you the basics, a friend or someone and then you can learn from home. I found it hard to learn from home before I knew the basics but after taking a short course in high school I was able to really take off with it and learn at home. http://www.tutorial9.net/ was a big help.

If you had to choose between these two which would it be?

I like it. The what you did the Victoria text with the block under it looks good. If you are allowed, I would work on the horse a little.

Thanks for the advice. Question what benefits do using illustrator have? I know photoshop and am new to illustrator. Should I bother to learn it?

I wrote out a really nice logo for a company after finding no decent fonts. The logo also curves nicely. I scanned it, put it in Photoshop and I am trying to make a good vector from it. However, the vectors I am creating end up with lines that look as follows: Any idea how I could get those lines to straighten and become smooth?

Good idea, I don't think what I have so far has much potential.

I kinda like it. I may look around for some inspiration though if you would like to make progress.
