Hi, I'm thinking about downloading software to help build wireframes and prototype (pseudo-functional) web pages. Can I ask please what software you use for doing this and can you recommend anything in particular. I have looked at the Axure software (http://www.axure.com/) which looks pretty good. I'm just starting a website project for a social running-club. They meet and run each week. They want to be able to update a page showing the venues of forthcoming runs(with a thumbnail image), and another one for reports of runs that have happened. (i.e. sort of two blog pages). They want a photo gallery page that they can update themselves, and also a forum sort of page. Ideally I would like to customise/skin the pages to some extent too. Is there any "out-of-box" freeware package these days that could easily be used for this sort of project?

Hello all, I have been tinkering with this one for too long and haven't managed to fix it. I have a page which has a Spry drop-down menu generated by Dreamweaver CS4. I realise that some people will say use a CSS only menu from CSSPlay etc, but I really want to fix the one that is already coded if possible. My web page is rendering properly in IE8, Firefox and everthing else, but in IE6, the submenus appear behind the images that are below them on the page. The web page is at http://rb40.co.uk/test/ PLEEEEEASE can anyone help me? I just want to understand what is going wrong. Thanks

FIXED!! Thanks to everyone! I had an IE conditional CSS statement in my HTML which was setting padding-top:20px in the leftContent div. Dur!!

I've cleared my cache for IE and still the problem is there. It surprises me that this is happening in IE7. Usually I only get problems with IE6!

No - again that made no difference. The page is still appearing correctly in FF3, but not in IE7. Of course, I'm hoping the solution might be something as simple as your suggestion! Has anyone else seen this before?

Hi , I need to fix a layout problem really urgently, and I'm pulling my hair out. The page can be seen at http://www.rb40.co.uk/ The problem is the pink strip above the "Ready Made Lists" on the left hand side. (The div id is "leftContent"). The page appears correctly in FF 3.0.5, but not in IE7 (and prbably IE in general). PLEASE can anyone help please or suggest a solution.

Jake, if you want to see what it looked like, look at dizi's little space on the web, then globally change "Helen Harris" to "Jamie Cressy" and "Dizi Designs" to "Jingle Designs" and that's about it! He didn't even change the images, text, meta tags in the source code. The only thing he did change was the page tracker at the bottom of the html.

Well I checked the link to Jamie Cressey's copy 10 mins ago and then send him an email. Just checked his site again, and he has JUST removed it. Hope he's feeling suitably ashamed :-)

Poor you! It looks incredibly identical to your design. But yours was featured in Smashing Magazine!... months ago. There's the proof. Hope you've filled his mailbox with your dissatisfaction ;-)

Wow! What sort of coffee do you drink!!

I like it. It looks good to me. The whole page fitted onto my browser screen, without scrolling, though that might not be true for everyone, so I would question the wisdom of having the navigation at the bottom. One teeny thing though. The page title has a misspelling of "Luxury". (You have "Luxry"). Not sure whether that was deliberate for some reason for search engines, but doesn't shout quality.
