Nice to meet you! You will have now trouble getting started with HTML and CSS, it just takes practice and a bit of research. Don't worry about HTML vs HTML5, at the moment all you need to know is that they have added more tags. For example <header> and <footer> The best way to start learning HTML is to start writing basic stuff without worrying about the look and design, you can just see what the raw HTML looks like in the browser and how the CSS can style it up. What do you mean by News script? can you explain some more?

Ah but also people with out JS enabled would never see the content... not great!

Could you hide the containing div with css, then show it after your using js? You wouldnt see the jump then

Can you find the layout on a current website? Then see how they did it? Cna be a great way to learn (if they did it corredctly in the first place!)

I like having one <article> on the page for all body text, then divide the page up using <section>

This is how I learnt about 7 years ago, good to see the site is still going strong
