Hi there - you can usually find me in the SEO forums, but thought I'd venture over here for a quick query: My client's shopping cart has stopped charging any postage. She usually offers free postage for a total order amount of up to £10, then anything over £10, she charge £4.95. She's have entered all the correct information in the table rate shipping section in admin but it doesn't show up during checkout. Any ideas? OSCommerce troubleshooting isn't really my forte.

Campaign monitor is an excellent product. It has pretty strict rules about spamming and would definitely be against the software mentioned in the original post. But for legitimate e-mail newlsetters designed to keep your customers informed about developments in you company, it is absolutely fantastic. Comes with built in spam tester as well.

Thanks, I've just checked it out and looks pretty good. I've not used it before though and the modules seem expensive. Would it be good to go as is, do you think. Or would it probably need quite a few add ons?

Does anybody know of any out of the box E-Commerce platforms that deal primarily with people paying for downloads? I need the site to be a standalone entity designed to sell downloadable .doc, .pdf and image files to a wide audience. The client will be able to download a mixture of files and these will include word documents and high resolution images, they are able to either pay for their downloads with a card (happy to use a pay broker like paypal), or indeed be an invoiced monthly account in which case we will allocate download credits to their account. Preferential partners will pay a lower rate. We need people to be able to buy articles singly or with a subscription. We need discounts to be available to premium members on both single downloads and subscription packages. Account access will be via a username and password generated by the client or the administrator. Any hellp that anybody could give me would be hugely appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hi there, I was wondering if anybody could help me please? I've only ever worked with MySQL databases when uploading a whole website to a new server. But now I need to upload an ASP website to a new hosting provider and I'm a little bit worried about messing it up. Can anybody point me to some simple step-by-step instructions to help me? Depending on the computer literacy of the client, I would tend to edge towards Joomla. The backend isn't all that confusing if you explain it properly and go through it with them. I do like Wordpress for its simplicity and usability but it's hierarchical nature can sometimes lead to having to duplicate content, which I'd rather not be doing. Better for blogging without a doubt.

This is extremely strange. You're right, this website is very basic. It only has one page indexed with Google and has a flash intro to boot! It has very little content and seems to be doing everything wrong in terms of getting high Google rankings. Google Business Listings works separately from how good your website is though. It is about how well optimised your business listing is. The following things may help you rank higher: Add as many photos as you can Try and get some reviews Use your keywords in your company description Add a coupon Link to the business listing Add videos if possible Having said all that, this anomalous electrician seems to be doing very few of these things and is still ranking. It's a mystery to me. Maybe it's a glitch in the matrix

There are quite a few tools available for this purpose, some free and some paid for. Here is one of the free sitemap generators that can create dynamic sitemaps.

Hi hungrytiger. Unfortunately, the only way you'll be able to find out how much people charge for their SEO services is to ask for a quote. Some companies will put prices on their website for certain packages, but every SEO campaign is different and depending upon how competitive your key phrases are and how many you want to optimise for, the price will vary greatly. Be wary of anybody offering to get you to the top of Google in two weeks... no company can truly guarantee first place on Google for anything. But if they can promise you front page in two weeks, they're probably not playing by the rules and could end up getting you blacklisted. Try giving the company a ring and see how easy they are to get in touch with. Most companies will charge a monthly fee for ongoing SEO as it can take six months to see real improvement to your search engine position.

It will help to overcome this if you use a 301 redirect. You're right though, I work with a lot of young entrepreneurs at the University of Sheffield and it's amazing how many people make the final decision on their business name depending on whether the same domain name is available.
