  1. How have they used your images - from your server? Consider hotlinking protection http://www.renaissance-design.net/2010/mistyped-url-duplicate-content-htaccess-and-mod_rewrite-to-the-rescue/ but it's probably too late for that if they have already copied them to their server, but it might protect you in future.
  2. If you install Opera Mobile Emulator http://www.opera.com/developer/tools/mobile/ you can test in several small-screen devices, down to 320px wide. Your media query closing tag is at the bottom of your CSS so all the styles are in the media query and there are no break points. I looked at your page in Opera Emulator at a small viewport width and the text was too small to read. The page layout remained the same but everything got smaller. Break points with different styles can help this.
  3. You can style input and select boxes with CSS just like any other element. Here are some examples http://www.456bereas..._form_controls/ http://gutfeldt.ch/m...orms/index.html input { background: red; } select { border: 1px solid black; }
  4. Does it send emails from the online form? To send from localhost you have to edit teh php.ini file, see http://roshanbh.com.np/2007/12/sending-e-mail-from-localhost-in-php-in-windows-environment.html
  5. There are simplified CMS programs like http://www.cushycms.com/en which enable a client to edit only those parts of a page that you give him access to. You set up your website pages and then add a class to those parts that you want the client to edit, so he could change images in a gallery but probably not add any unless he had access to the code.
  6. I think it's because your img code has no src="..." in it <a href="https://twitter.com/devilsrefugee" rel="nofollow" target="_blank"><img id="bird" alt="" title="If there is no text, the twitter api may be down. Click the bird, to see my twitter profile instead." /></a> when I edited it in IE9 to <a href="https://twitter.com/devilsrefugee" rel="nofollow" target="_blank"><img src="images/james-wylie-twitter-icon.png" id="bird" alt="" title="If there is no text, the twitter api may be down. Click the bird, to see my twitter profile instead." /></a> the "border" disappeared (it's actually the "cannot display an image" outline). Note that I had the image in a folder called images which you may not have. I only did a very limited test so I'm not sure if it causes another problem.
  7. Yes, you must work in Localhost to get PHP to process.
  8. It's this background image. http://www.osssecurity.com/res/builtin/background.jpg

    Remember to get a student discount if you can, the discount can be large, especially for software like Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint etc.
  10. I did experiment with this bit couldn't get it to work, I got the transparent image over two or three at the same time, so I had to split the three completely separate
  11. The only way I could get your code to work was to split it into three:- HTML:= <div class="image"> <img src="images/portfolio_image_1.png" class="captionme" title="I am the only son" alt="Porfolio detail" /> <img class="hoverimage" src="images/portfolio_overlay.png" alt="" /> </div> <div class="image2"> <img src="images/portfolio_image_1.png" class="captionme" title="I am the only son" alt="Porfolio detail" /> <img class="hoverimage2" src="images/portfolio_overlay.png" alt="" /> </div> <div class="image3"> <img src="images/portfolio_image_1.png" class="captionme" title="I am the only son" alt="Porfolio detail" /> <img class="hoverimage3" src="images/portfolio_overlay.png" alt="" /> </div> CSS:- .image, .image2, .image3 { position: relative; height: 240px; float: left; width: 250px; } .hoverimage { position: absolute; top: 5px; left: 25px; display: none;} .image:hover .hoverimage { position: absolute; top: 5px; left: 5px; display: block; } .hoverimage2 { position: absolute; top: 5px; left: 25px; display: none;} .image2:hover .hoverimage2 { position: absolute; top: 5px; left: 5px; display: block;} .hoverimage3 { position: absolute; top: 5px; left: 25px; display: none;} .image3:hover .hoverimage3 { position: absolute; top: 5px; left: 5px; display: block; } A pseudo hover on div.image won't work in IE6 (only on the "a" tag). I think a conventional css hover popup would work in all IE versions and you can adjust the offset to make the hover image show over the correct image. [i don't know why there is  after some codes above, just ignore it if it's still there. I think it has cured itself.]
  12. To order by date you will have to convert it to UNIX (number of seconds since Jan 1 1970) either before you save in the database (inconvenient because if you look at the database you won't understand the large number of seconds) or when you extract it to show in a web page. I use strtotime http://php.net/manua...n.strtotime.php which does time and date conversion and then the browser can order it asc or desc and also display in Y M D or D M Y. Note that the database has to hold the date in a format that PHP can understand, like d-m-y (European) or m/d/y (American) . The MySQL field type needs to be DATE not INT or TEXT. This is what I had in php echo in one of my tables to display Date <td class='datetd'>". date('D d F Y', strtotime($row['date'])) ."</td> but you may have to edit that to suit your database and php file.
  13. The two divs inside #content-wrapper are #content and #booking-calendar which are both floated. You probably have to clear the floats to get the background in #content-wrapper to go down to the bottom of the longest one so add overflow: hidden; to #content-wrapper.
  14. You will have to get out of the habit of specifying height: 100%; to various divs because it never works. I assume that you want the background color of booking-calendar to go down to the bottom of content-wrapper. Since you have fixed width colums and plain color backgrounds, the faux-columns method is probably easiest for you. You create an image only say 5px high but with the width of your container div with part colored for the left side and part colored for the right side, then apply it to the container with repeat-y to drag it down and clear any floats if necessary (I don't think you do) to make its background go down the full height of the container which will include the side div. See http://www.alistapar...es/fauxcolumns/ or item 18 here http://www.wickham43...xbackground.php
  15. Try order by DATE instead of order by ID, assuming date is in a format that can be ordered.
  16. Can't you save the file and refresh your browser, or am I not understanding something? If the background-image is coded in your css file, the path needs to go from the css file to the image file or the folder that contains the image file. It helps if you are a beginner to put all files in the root folder. Learn about relative paths if you have sub-folders. At the moment you have url(images/blahblah.png) which means that you do have a sub-folder. It might make it easier if you had all files in the root folder and changed the code to url(blahblah.png)

    Watch out guys and gals, don't annoy me.
  18. I'm not sure why you are getting problems. With a media query you should be able to disable float and then all the li tags will form a vertical list on the left.
  19. That should work, I've done that too where I had a position: fixed menu across the top of teh page so I wanted the anchor position below. Id is used now instead of name, I think name is deprecated.
  20. I know what you mean. You have to place the anchor a bit higher up, but that may not be easy if you have a long text paragraph above. You can use the first element that's above, say a p tag, and add the id="anchor" into that element <p id="anchor">...................</p> <p>.........Your anchored element appearing a bit lower.........</p> and that position will show at the top of the window, but you probably won't get exactly the right distance down the page for your anchored item. If I'm looking at the right page, add the anchor into the ul tag above.
  21. Are you using both those styles in the css file, like #element { background: url(images/blahblah.png); } #element { background: background: #000; } If so, only the later one will be processed. You have to combine them #element { background: #000 url(images/blahblah.png); }
  22. You need a hover popup, either basic css or javascript for a smooth transition and effects.
  23. Probably by using different class names so that it doesn't seem so illogical.
  24. Yes, but you have to download the js files from the other website. Use Firefox, View Source and you can normally click on the linkl to open it, then save and set them up in a js folder. You shouldn't really copy other people's code, but the js files are probably open source.
  25. In your media query you would have .align-right { text-align: left; } and in the narrow page all text from both styles would be aligned left.
