Hi Guys Im looking for a little help, basically im cerating a Joomla website at the moment, and what i want is basically, for the users to be able to register and pay to access certain downloads and aspects of the website, but rather than one at a time, they can accumulate products to their membership. So for example, Person X registers, and wants access to our SEO package, and Web Design, but these are just 2 options available from 16, can anyone suggest a way to implement this? Regards

Well it wasa process where before they selected me, they drafted a pdf with a layout for the web design, but said they wanted it to come alive, i followed the layout and brought it alive, added colour etc, even tried some mock ups of slight adjustments, finally they telephoned me listing 2 or 3 sites they liked, i said id draft along the lines of the examples they had provided, for sample purposes to show them exactly how it could look, unfortunately the last contact was through telephone so i have no proof of what i said, but i did indicate this several times in emails and we talked alot about bringing the page some life and colour. After this, they claimed it was a copyright breach of this respective site, i informed them this was only for draft purposes but they claimed they were concerned, and cancelling forthwith, this activated the terms and conditions. It clearly states that if they cancel after work commences, any deposit paid is lost if they cancel, it also shows they are liable to be billed for any work undertaken and charged £50.00 cancellation fee, i have not envoked the last two clauses however on the contract they signed, it clearly states they are accepting my terms and conditions by charging, which they failed to check or ask for, so as far as im concerned its unfortunate, but thats the way the situation has transpired

Thats my plan anyway, im going to speak with Citizens Advice first of all to see what my position is, however i do have every ounce of communication between myself and the client, or former client as the case may be.

Hi Guys, Quick query really, i had a client who came to me last month requiring a website design, they were specific that they wanted the layout they provided implemented into any design, they signed a contract (confirming acceptance of my terms and conditions) and paid the deposit. We continued to exchange emails with me sending design drafts and making alterations as necessary, they even indicated they were very happy for me to add my own design elements aslong as the layout they provided had remained the same. I proceeded with this, and even took a telephone call from the client, whereby she stated 2 or 3 websites she liked, and i informed her i would draft one of these websites with her own design elements to show her how it could come to life (it was dead before, white background square boxes and Lorem Ipsum filler text everywhere). After doing this, she claimed i had breached copyright and they were cancelling the contract on the terms that i hadnt designed what they had asked for, and because of the terms and conditions, they had lost their deposit. It clearly states that any work started will be subject to a non refundable deposit in the event of the client cancelling. They signed a legally binding contract to this effect. Now they claim they are taking me to court - so does anyone have any experience of this, or views of where i stand?

I had a similar situation, i went 6 weeks waiting for payment, after 3 reminders after the date he said he would pay; i removed the site, put a notice on his page stating "website temporarily unavailable pending final payment" you'd be amazed how quick they pay up

Where exactly would a clear tag go though, in the template php file it isnt loaded in there, merely loaded as a module, but the four red bars are loaded in the php, in the user 2 position. Basically the module is being shown on the home page, the four red bars underneath the slideshow are part of user 2, but the pair need moving to the bottom without disfiguring the page..

Hi Guys, I have a quick question, currently on this website, i have the flash side show and a few menu items in user 2 as shown below: Now what im after is moving this to the bottom of the page, ive tried moving this to the footer or below user 2 in the php file for the template, but this just pushes the right hand items further right, so can anyone please direct me how to position this correctly?

Thats actually a really good idea, i did something similar but marked it from the collections department of my own business, they soon pay up once they hear the words "legal proceedings"

I can only echo whats been said already, dont fall into the trap where people guarentee a page number within a week etc, it doesnt work as simple as people lead you to believe, try using an SEO specialist, my company charge little over £250 a month usually for SEO work, depending solely on what your after of course.

Ive come to that conclusion myself - just wondered if anyone knew of another way it was possible, its going to have to be a more compatible solution for the client unfortunately. Thanks for your input connetu

Hi Guys, Basically im developing a website for a client, but its got a little complicated and i wondered if anyone here can help. On her current website, http://www.moneysmartworld.com she has a system where she can allow people to register as affiliates, and upon registration through this page http://www.moneysmartworld.com/associate_register.jsp - they are sent an email which generates some affiliate code which they can then put on their website, for people to buy products that way but recieve 25% of the final price, similar to what Amazon etc do. The problem im having is im trying to integrate this system with Joomla, were currently on a temporary web address which is http://79.170.44.108/moneysmartworld.com (note you have to register to view the affiliate register page) and currently i have it setup as a wrapper link which allows you to view the old website through Joomla, and it all works perfectly like that - but obviously the new web page will override the old one soon and i need to get this system or something similar onto the new platform - i have all the pages files and such from the old website but theyre all asp and jsp files and to be honest i havent a clue how to do it - anyone know where i should start or even know if its possible? Regards

That sounds awfully painful !! Id suggest a good book - if your starting from basics try one of the Dummies Guide to Search Engine Optimisation, theyre written by experts but they make it so simple to understand - might be a good starting point as they definately cover the basics very well.

Hi Guys, Im installing a script for a guy who wants postage rate in his oscommerce shop to be dependant on post code for price; ive managed to find a script but cannot for the life of me get it to work; followed every instruction and all im getting is : All the way down the page. This is the getrate.php file - can anyone help me find out what the hells wrong? You cant checkout at the shop at all without getting the errors so obviously i need to sort it asap!! Any help would be great

I agree but even a very slight gradient, a slight shadow or that kind of thing can help it from looking flat

Hey Tom, I have no clue what they are thinking taking this long, its unspeakable, if they cant fulfil the job they should just admit to it and pay the money back; id say its blatantly clear now that they have no intentions of doing so. If I was you; id take everything you have and start legal proceedings and get your money back, then find someone to do the job from scratch, before you know it, you'll have missed 18 months waiting for it and 2 christmas sales periods, which in fairness could have made you around 4 times your loss on the website. I hate it when companies resort to this, gives the rest of us a bad name to be frank

Looking at the existing site, if you just changed the background to match the background of the content, that could bring the site to life an awful lot

I really like the holding page at the monent, the design is very nice indeed, the whole idea is very well put together _ im struggling with the bamboo side of things on the main page but im sure thatll come to you
