Hi all, I was wondering if ther was a program thats like a CMS, but is on my computer aswell, like Windows Live Writer or BlogJet, Something that puts news on my website in a program... if there is such a wonderful and gloriouse thing. Like Contribute. But I don't want to pay for it. And I don't want it so I have to set up a blog..

Ive been wondering how do i make my Xhtml and CSS designs a wordpress Skin id like to integrate my designs into WP.

Hey all, I'm looking for a simple CMS that really only does the simple things like editing a page and creating new ones maybe even have some sort of asset library thing. I also need it asap and I know you guys would know more about it than I would coming from a design background rather than a coding one. I'd prefer low cost even free ones as I don't have a big budget (or any) to splash the $$ on my site . I just don't need the over blown ones like e107 and joomla as its only a simple one I'm after. Hey guys I am looking for the most dynamic CMS out there? A XHTML valid CMS with easy to use (my clients are stupid (of course)) WYSIWYG editor. By dynamic i mean easy to embed functions like "gallery", "multiple news", "links sites", "download sites", and etc etc..... Iv had bad experince with simple once (like CMSimple), and found myself irritated that you couldnt (i couldnt ) write PHP in the different pages.... like include tags etc. Help?

Ok, I so I'm busy using cutenews and it sucks. I hate the design of the login page even changing the icons on it. I hate the, on every single page of my website, and basicly I found this one, I had the link open, just bookmarked it, five minutes later, computer crashed. HAd to re-install it, luckely I had just backed up everything I needed on to a 2GB memory stick the previous day. So I need your sujestions on what I should use to publish news using php into my website, thats good looking and works! PS, I don't remeber the name of that other php thing.. over and out alex!

Hey guys, Been using joomla with other extentions like virtuemart for a while now. A pharmacy client wants quite an indepth ecommerce website. I feel that I can customise virtuemart only so far. What would the best solution for me, what do other people use. Lets say I wanted to create a website like www.ebuyer.co.uk? Hope someone can help... Dan

Wordpress More Tag I would like to change the more tag to something different than just saying more, like Read More or Read Full Article or something else, does anyone know where to edit this?

Anybody got any experience of using Expression Engine? I've got one installation up on a subdomain, trying to learn my way around. Looks like a nice system, (has a propietary language, which is fairly simple) in place of PHP, so it looks fairly powerful without having to learn PHP. I'm going to try and learn a bit of PHP soon for other CMS like Mambo, Joomla and Drupal amounst others. I'd love to hear if anyone else has tried this CMS out and if they have any oppinions on it in general. Cheers, Andy

Hi everyone, I have always heard the powerful features available in Mambo CMS. So I installed it and was trying to do some layout/template customization myself. But at the end, I was quite lost as this is the first time I trying it. I try to search and read thru guide at their official forum but those guide seems to be quite complicated for a new user like me. So I wonder is there any simple step by step guides available out there? You know...guides like teaching a primary school kids... Thanks for your kind pointer.

I was working on a CMS locally last night, and I uploaded it filled with content to my server..and it didn't work right at all. Bit of a mess. I'd had enough by then, so I went out and decided to fix it today. Just logged in, and it's running perfectly.. : Have the server fairies been to look at my code overnight?

Hi, I'm in the process of building a website for a client. He wants to be able to update and make changes to the website himself once I've finished and put the website on his server. However, he only has a very basic IT knowledge. What I'm looking for is some kind of simple wysiwyg editor which i can upload and install on the server. It has to be easy to use - both for his sake and mine! I've been told that cms is the way to do it but I don't really get how it works. Hi, so me and 16 friends are entering a local county football league and I'm creating the website. Task: Without having the tedious task of altering every cell individually, have a way of updating the league table on our TEAM site, with the data from the table on the official league website. Hey, i'm looking for a script that would be ideal for showing a brief description, then a Demo and Download link below that. Hmm, reading that line again I find it isn't helpful... So I threw together the image below of what I would like to achieve. I do realise that this can easily be mocked up together using PHP includes but i'd much rather prefer something that has some sort of admin back-end. Hi I'm new here and have enjoyed reading posts/replies. I have been asked to design a website with a page that the owner can update without my involvement. They simply want to alter their prices against a small range of products on a regular basis. They are computer literate but not experienced enough to use a web design package so it would need to be VERY user friendly. Do any of the members have any experience of a product that would be suitable (and preferably inexpensive) that I could build into the site to facilitate this. Thanks Richard

Hi this s my first post on the forum so please be gentle with me. I am building a community based web site listing all the business and clubs etc within a given area. We aim to provide all the local charites and social clubs with a page each, unique to them and want to provide a means by which they can edit themselvs. Any sugestions this needs to be as cheap an alternative as possible as we are woefully underfunded.
