It's a little hard to judge without seeing it up with some content in.

 

It does look a tad too simple to my mind which a portfolio site shouldn't be. I'm not saying that portfolio sites shouldn't be simple, it's just this design kind of smacks of "I can't be bothered" (I don't mean that to sound as harsh as it possibly does) - your portfolio site should showcase you skills really, and I don't think that you'd be doing yourself justice with such a simple design as this.

 

That's my two-penneth anyway.

Thanks it was just an idea which i had to get out but know its out i can see if it was a good idea or an bad one

Stick to the old design please, the new one is too bright and is very unproffessional. Oh and some feedback on the old design. Give the table (or div) a black background with rounded corners, and leave the background there.

Yeah I prefer your old design, the new one uses both rainbow colours and comic-sans which are both usually considered painful to look at!

I don't agree - I think the new design will be a good deal better with a bit of work.

Loose the comic-sans-lookalike, it will never look professional with a font that kindergarden teachers and invitations for five-year olds birthday parties prefer, and spacing it will be a nightmare. And find some other colours for the links..maybe move them somewhere else.

And yes - content will be good.

Just my humble opinion.

I don't like your new one. It just shows you know how to change colors of text, which most people can do. So I prefer your old one more.

Is it a kids website

I do prefer the old site, as I like the wood effect it has going on.

A little work and it will look like a very proffesional site.

I agree with the others about the other design, it does look ameturish and rather childish. But like you say, it is only a concept, so If I would recommend spending the time on your current site.
