July 31, 200818 yr Just noticed that Google have changed my page rank from 3 on every page to 2 but kept home page at 3 (thank god!). My pages have been a steady 3 rank for donkeys so im all shook up! Has anyone else had this quite disturbing experiance lately? I only have a four page site including a contact page, short, sweet and to the point. I am now however thinking of adding more content, possibly a blog, are peoples thoughts on 'enlarging' site content in order to score well (assuming that you add relivent and usefull stuff that is! )?
July 31, 200818 yr My site has gone from 4 down to 3 but I don't blame it as I haven't touched it in months
July 31, 200818 yr Author Don't you know that a low PR is best? </sarcasm> Cheeky Monkey!! To be fair I, like you Dizi have been neglecting my own site as too busy on building others! I think im gonna give it some TLC this weekend!
July 31, 200818 yr My blog went from 5 to 4 and so did a friend of mine's (from 6 to 5). My guess is that you can't keep a website's PR the same unless you constantly add links to it. Also it's pretty hard to put all the websites on a scale from 1 to 10 (PR has nothing to do with ranking higher in search engine results btw so don't worry).

I know what you mean about search rankings, the problem for me is that some clients both current and posssibles want to see their web designers (i.e. me) site to have a good PR, sort of proof in pudding-that sorta thing. Im just gonna have to pull my finger out and do some work to make it better!
July 31, 200818 yr It's been a while since I've even looked at our Google PageRank. I always thought it did have an influence on rank. If not, what does it do?
August 1, 200818 yr It's been a while since I've even looked at our Google PageRank. I always thought it did have an influence on rank. If not, what does it do? It's all about the trust (results from searches are probably correlated with relevance+rank+trust). G algorithm secret sauce stuff
August 1, 200818 yr to be honest I don't know what my PR is. I just care about getting business and being high in the rankings.:film7:
August 1, 200818 yr PR doesnt gain your rankings it keeps you rankings. For example a PR1 site will typically fluctuate quite a lot if it makes it on to the first page, a PR5 site will rarely move. Adding content isn't going to gain you PR though - its all about high quality inbound AND outbound links.

Thanks Egg, thats something I have let slip these past few months, im gonna start doing more to it in the way of links.
