what webhost spec should i need for my blog ?

Featured Replies

how much webspace ? bandwith ?  should i need ssl  ? ftp ? database ?  for a fresh  new entry ...

It depends on a few things:

  • how many files/photos you will be adding
  • space for your blogging system files (and database if it uses one)
  • space for email if your using the web hosts email facility and want to store emails to the server

Early on you may only need 100/200 megabytes but as your site grows over time you may need more.

For data transfer (bandwidth) it depends on how many visitors you get. Again, early on you may only use a few hundred megabytes a month, if you blog turns out to be popular you may need a gigabyte or more.

My advice, start on the hosts entry plan then upgrade as your site grows.

Most of that is standard hosting spec.

What's more important is how many sites are on the server and the server location.

Also make sure you are dealing with the host not a reseller.
