March 6, 20197 yr So far the best way I can think of is through indeed (usually this has the most competition though). I have sent loads of cv's to local companies through email but didn't get a reply from any of them, I guess it just goes to spam. What I used to do was send a letter to the company director (you can find directors through google) but this is a speculative approach so most of the time they won't even be looking for someone. Is there any alternative ways to getting a job in this? Im thinking of going to this code club through meetup.com to meet someone that might be able to get me the job. Knowing people is usually the way you get a job. Networking is recommended but i'm not entirely sure how you do that. I find linkedin pretty useless for finding a job. I've pretty much tried every method to find a job.
March 6, 20197 yr Have you got code examples to show them? A tonne of places are hiring in the UK, but they will require proof of competence before you get an interview. Networking is one way to hear about jobs, but no one will refer you unless they feel you're capable of fulfilling the role, and it doesn't guarantee you work.
