August 24, 20179 yr I had an email from google last week. in fact several the same, for different sites: Search Console Chrome will show security warnings on http://www.cyberpress.biz[/size]To owner of http://www.cyberpress.biz,Starting October 2017, Chrome (version 62) will show a 'NOT SECURE' warning when users enter text in a form on an HTTP page, and for all HTTP pages in Incognito mode. The following URLs on your site include text input fields (such as < input type="text" > or < input type="email" >) that will trigger the new Chrome warning. Review these examples to see where these warnings will appear, so that you can take action to help protect users’ data. This list is not exhaustive. And there was more. Is everybody getting these? My contact forms are all going to need attention and certificates and lord knows what.
August 24, 20179 yr I recommend finding out what you're host offers in terms of SSL, warnings like this will get worse over time. Quite a few hosts have started to offer free certificates using Lets Encrypt, usually if they have a Lets Encrypt integration, it will handle the hard work like setup and renewal for you. We have all of our sites on Lets Encrypt now, it works well, and there's very little we have to do accept to request a certificate on a domain.
August 25, 20179 yr Your contact forms don't need any attention. Just get a free/cheap SSL installed and change all the URLS from http to https. That's all you need to do.
August 25, 20179 yr Looks like you are hosted by Compila, now part of Vidahost, and if you scroll down to the hosting packages they list on their Compila announcement, the full features suggest they provide the free Let's Encrypt SSL. https://www.vidahost.com/welcome/compila
August 25, 20179 yr Author Thanks all, am speaking with vidahost. I can't even remember the name of the company I used to use for hosting. I was sold several times before I ended up with vidahost.
August 25, 20179 yr I'd escape vidahost ASAP. They used to be ok but their service has gone right downhill since they were brought out by some megacorp
