Hello all, I made my first site 15 years ago, then a few after that, after having a bit on time off, im starting again, I would like any advice on software for a medium size online shop, approx. 500 -2000 items, as I see it the optiins are woocommerce, opencart, magento, shopify if you want the easy route? pros and cons please, as far as I can see, I need the best for real "google friendliness", ie google seo options.

easy and google friends way will be WooCommerce,

if you want to chhose the difficult path then go for Magento

I have built many woocommerce websites...some with over 25,000 products

It is a superior product, with low development costs and lots of add ons to choose from

 

I've never heard Woocommerce called a "superior product". Each to their own I guess

 

We've used it. It's good for an out of the box solution for small business - mostly because it's fast and easy to setup. But it comes with loads of bloat, and it becomes difficult to manage inventories when they become large.

I personally dislike it because of the bloat, but then I am a bit of a web performance nut so I will say that

We use a slightly modified version of OpenCart - it's pretty stable, we've built 20 + Websites using this platform now and no issues to date.

If you're looking for proper platform I consider Magento as the best one.

It's good even for you approx. 500 -2000 items
