October 6, 201411 yr Good evening, I am very new to SEO and could use some advice from you pro's :-) I need to target up to 7 locations within the UK for a beauty business, can anyone recommend the best method for this? I was thinking about setting up a page for each location within one website, however there is little content so it would be hard to create a page without duplicating loads of content. Would it be better to set up an individual website for each location? Would love to hear your thoughts and advice :-)
October 7, 201411 yr Its better to set up a page for each location within the main website so that once the website gets optimized, each of the location webpage will be individually ranked in the search results. If your going to create individual websites for each locations, it would take more time for optimizing each website.
October 9, 201411 yr Author The only problem is that it's a mobile beauty business, there is no set location as such, just multiple areas in which the business operates. I thought to myself perhaps if I had location pages within the main website, it might not work as I don't have a shop address etc to mention or a great deal of unique content to use.
October 10, 201411 yr There's a few things you can do: 1. Provide a simple list of places you serve on your home page 2. Include the most popular locations in your page title, eg "Beauty services in the Oxford and Reading area" 3. If you have an "about" page list the places there are well No need to overdo it, so long as you list them somewhere search engines will pick them up.
October 21, 201411 yr I have a similar question so I'm going to tack it on here and hope no-one minds. Someone's asked me for thoughts about their website and one thing struck me. Their home page has at the bottom, a vertical list of over 30 links in small, light grey type. If I pretend they are a window cleaner (they aren't) to protect their identity these would look like window cleaning Northampton window cleaning Rugby window cleaning Oxford etc. Each link leads to a page like www.theirdomainname.co.uk/window-cleaning-northampton All the content is the same except for the heading "Northampton Window Cleaner" and a line in the text "Are you looking for a reliable window cleaner in Northampton". Am I right in thinking this is a bad idea? Could it actually be harming their search results or is that a myth?
October 21, 201411 yr Am I right in thinking this is a bad idea? Could it actually be harming their search results or is that a myth? IMHO that sort of practice looks very spammy and causes severe duplication, something the the engines would spot, not to say the text sounds like it's low contrast. In the past it may have worked to fool them but nowadays they're more likely to deduct brownie points for it.
December 2, 201411 yr create the subdomain like us.domain.com uk.doman.com don't use one domain name to target different location. subdomains will be effective.
February 2, 201511 yr I'm pretty sure that using uk.domain.com, us.domain.com, fr.domain.com has exactly the same SEO effect as using domain.com/uk/, domain.com/us/, domain.com/fr/ If I'm wrong on that, I'd like to know. Yep it has the same seo effect although sub-domains as far as I know are treated as separate sites rather than sub sections of a main site which would carry link juice down so IMO domain.com/fr/ would be better. Although that might just be the old days?
February 11, 201511 yr i think its very easy to do local business, you can list your local business using you different address location, use places name within your site content, make fan pages, and focus on classified sites, join forums i am sure by that you will see the boost in your visitors flow. you can also hire professional company for that, visit below link for that.
