Can't seem to find any in a search for the website air2b, except for the home page

Edited by davetee

............... the developer is telling me Sitemaps are no longer being used by Google.

Then tell the developer they're a tw@t and get another developer.

Google no longer use the keywords meta tag but they still use sitemap.xml files.

Each destination has content which needs to be mapped IMO as Webmaster Tools isn't indexing anything but the main pages, we've requested this but the developer is telling me Sitemaps are no longer being used by Google.

e.g. http://www.air2b.com/destinations/location/alcudia-mallorca-spain

You can get an idea of what pages from your site are included in google by typing site:www.air2b.com as for your current developers stupidity I can't help you there I suggest you get a new developer. But imo sitemaps are very important and you should generate your own then submit it through webmaster tools this helps Google understand what pages you would like indexed. It does not however mean Google will index every last url that you put inside your sitemap.

Sitemaps are still very important and an important step toward getting your site indexed by Google.. It guide the crawler to inner pages of your websites and you gets your pages in the index much faster

Sitemap is one of the most important factors which needs to be integrated in every website. It helps the crawler to analyze the urls in the website for indexing.

Are sitemaps still important for indexing new pages on Google or does Google use another method now.

Thanks

The sitemap serves as a ‘Table of Contents’ referencing all pages and allowing website visitors to trace pages they are unable to find by searching the site or navigating throughout site navigation menus. Usually a sitemap will show a website’s navigation in a bulleted outline, and link anchor text to the page it references.

A sitemap aids search-engines in the process of indexing website pages. The sitemap also improves and distributes Page Rank all over each and every website pages.

The sitemap is now updated, although we had to pay for it. IMO it should have been done when the sitemap was created.

Hi,

Sitemap will help the Google to crawl and Index all the URL's on your site. There are many tools to check your site's sitemap. Download it and submit its XML version on your site webmaster tool.

How much did you have to pay. To be honest there are tools that will generate a sitemap for you by indexing your site, you can then upload the XML file to the root directory via FTP.
