First thing I thought when I loaded the site, was "bugger, slightly resembles my new project".

 

My suggestion, although it will just make our websites look even more simillar is to remove the margin from the top of the page, so that sky touches the top of the browser, and have that grass stretch to either side of the browser.

The first thing that I would say is get somebody to proof read your copy.

1. Values is spelt incorrectly on the navigation bar.

2. Scratch is spelt incorrectly in the first paragraph.

3. The phrase "do delay, pack a box today" ??

 

In addition, the bottom of your paragraphs are being chopped off and the home page does not validate.

 

It does have potential though!

Tip: Wizely, might be willing to proof read it for you...

I would recommend on the "our products" page not loading every image at once. All the thumbnails are just resized bigger images and that hinders load time.. I would literally go into photoshop or whatever you use and make thumbnails for each one.

 

For example have lemon.jpg for the page that displays the lemon picture in full and have lemon_thumb.jpg for the "our products" page where they display as thumbnails. With highspeed internet today, sites should just load instantly. and if not you should find a way to make them get as close to an instant load as possible.. thumbnails will help that!

 

 

Other than that the design is good, just some simple technical things like that I like to point out for over all optimisation. (hey UK guys, I spelled optimisation with an s instead of a z! can you believe it!??)

That's a deep and philosophical question - I'm complex!

I've just glanced over your copy and there are quite a few errors and, although an organic flow is good and so is putting your passion into it, the text is perhaps a bit too rambling to be effective. I do have altruistic tendencies and try to help-out where I can but at the moment I am snowed under (quite literally soon if another snow front blows through!).

 

Have a look at the Copywriting section on this forum for some of my advice - it may help.

 

I like the site by the way!

I like the concept of this site very much, but I can see room for improvement, too. In terms of balance. the header feels a bit squashed - maybe make it a bit taller so that the main header text is a little further down the page, then move your nav and content areas a little closer to the top. I'm finding the headers a bit tough on my eyes - maybe increase the font size, or lighten the green a bit.

I also think a bit more padding on the left and right of your content areas wouldn't hurt; they feel ever so slightly too close to the edge of the screen for my liking.

I also wonder if the navigation may benefit from being a bit more defined than it is - you could give it an opaque background for example which would do the job.

Back to your headers - I think a nice touch would be to put a little fruity icon in the space where you have indented the text - it would look pretty, and give the design more balance.

Although to be fair that company doesn't have a monopoly on the idea so if you remade the heading using photoshop (it even has a grass brush in the default installation) you should be alright. Just a note for the future though, this sort of thing is frowned upon here (especially as members here have had their site stolen in their entirety on occasion) so don't do it again!
