July 16, 200818 yr Hi gavpedz. Firstly, whatever you do, do NOT submit your website to auto-hits websites. Yes, they get you hits, and it looks cool in your website statistics - but these are exactly as described (automated). As sunlust said, you need to find your niche market, which is crucial information when it comes to website and business promotion. What kind of website do you operate?
July 16, 200818 yr Hello, Increased web traffic: 1) Commenting on others blogs: When you add a comment on a blog, they get indexed and you get a backlink. In the comment field, enter your name, website URL, email address and comment. Please DO NOT include a link in the comment or it will be marked as a spam by akismet or the administrator. Comment on useful blogs and not on all blogs which you find. Comment something useful rather than commenting “wow thanks”, “nice tips” , “thanks nice post” .. 2) Directory Submission Submit your site to directories and free directories, they might cost a bit, but they are good, find some free and paid directories here These directories better your PR and increase your backlinks 3) Link Exchange If you are new to the term Link Exchange then please read this post about Doing link exchange 4) Participate in Forums Use your site link with a nice anchor text on the signatures of Forums. Keep posting on forums and they would probably increase your backlinks. Don’t make them spammy as they would be deleted by the moderators there at the forums. You can search for forums or I know a few of them: Digital Point Forums SitePoint Forums SEO.com Forums Web Talk Forums You would be interested in finding more ! Hi gavpedz. August 28, 200817 yr Here's a suggestion: place a carefully worded free ad. Some of these website adverts are permanent, some just for 30 days. (topclassified.co.uk is permanent) Find some others in Yahoo http://uk.search.yahoo.com by typing in "Free Ads online in the UK" and this should bring up a list of dozens of sites where you can place free adverts. Use google analytics to evaluate the effect. Hope this helps!
September 13, 200817 yr 50% of my site traffic comes from sites where my links are on so that is highly recommended (backlinks in forums)
December 9, 200817 yr Small point If you get 3000 visitors a day who never buy anything, is that better than 7 every day that do???
January 5, 200917 yr Hi, I am a big user of my sites statistics and what I do is to see where my visitors come from and how they found it. And also as mentioned earlier, find out where the visitors that buy, sign up or what it is that you want to achieve come from. Then focus your marketing/promotion of your site on those. Best of luck Jute
January 15, 200917 yr I have just started a new website the other day. I am willing to link exchange with you. Please email me at contact@borellus.com if you are interested
January 28, 200917 yr well, what's your theme of your forum? And what so special when some one wants to post in your forum? some suggestion add adsense revenue sharing. Users can earn some cash by posting some useful posts in the forums 2.) define a narrower niche.. I don't see any niche you want to do with your forum. Seems to me you have everything, but consider one narrower at start probably a better idea for example, software development, php development, psp games, xbox games etc. 3.) keep adding more content in your forums and also write some useful articles that related to your niche. post the articles on different sites which include your forum links. anyway hopes that help
