Blog for Home Page

Featured Replies

Hi,

For the front of my web page I would like to have a "news" section in the form of a blog.

A friends website has this where they log in to post a new entry and it comes up with the date and time it was left. A Citizen Above Suspicion Website

In a couple of months I will be going away for 6 months so although I wont be able to do any new music or input that much I would like my website to be reasonably active throughout this time. I need something that I can log into around the world but is linked and will update onto my webpage.

Is there anything out there? I got an account with word press but cant see how this works with want I want yet.

Are there any other "widgets" out there that I can add to keep my website updated whilst being away?

Thanks,

Holly

If your blog has an RSS feed (which WP does!) then you can use a bit of Javascript/Ajax to include your news headlines on any page - http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamicindex18...aybox/index.htm has a nice script that you could use. All you'd then do is login to your Wordpress blog and add your content, you could also schedule news item for future publication as well.

Ok thats cool :-)

However not the cool bit about javascript, I need to learn it but when reading my text book earlier I may as well've been reading german lol

But it can be done which is the important thing! I might need future help but I'll see what I can manage for now :-)

OK I've tried looking around. I have created the rss feed javascript that wordpress generated for me by going to "export"

Now I have this what are the simple steps to getting it up onto my webpage and running?

Much appreciation for any help!
