April 5, 201412 yr Hello, I am currently creating bespoke social media buttons for a current project and I also want to add a "share via email" button. What I was wondering is if I use a system similar to the "AddThis" widget where users can enter an email to send to and also an email to send from. Does anyone know of any legal implications using this due to the fact that a user can send the email to anyone/any email and also from anyone/any email. Thanks in advance! **Admin - Accidently created in wrong forum, can someone please move.** Edited April 5, 201412 yr by jamesmwalker
April 5, 201412 yr Your site would be used for spamming which search engines would soon pick up on and you would very soon find that your email link is useless because all spam filters would dump every thing that came from your site. Your site details will be in the header and it wont take long. So legal reasons not to do this don't matter, because even if it is legal you would be shooting your own site down in flames.
April 6, 201412 yr No legal issues, but Paul is correct. No one used that functionality unless you are on a major high traffic site.
