March 6, 201412 yr I would appreciate some comments.Particulary:The blog items on the home page. DO they ruin the home page look?Is the home page a bit too spartan?Any comments would be appreciated.http://refreshwebsites.co.uk/home/Thanks
March 7, 201412 yr all looks good to me - like the spartan i.e. clean look blog bits could use more white space
March 7, 201412 yr I like the overall look of it very much. I find the text a little uncomfortable to read against the big banner photo - particularly the top menu.
March 9, 201412 yr Author Thank you. You mention an interesting point "uncomfortable to read"...do you mean it hard on the eye.? Perhaps the blog should just have the pic & title and not the para? Thanks for the feedback.
March 10, 201412 yr It's a great site bit I am looking at it on my ipad so will take a better look later I think in regards to being 'uncomfortable to read' is probably the font, don't get me wrong it's a very clear and clean font I just think the kerning could do with a play as it looks a little too close together.
March 10, 201412 yr It was the colour Pale yellow and white on a yellowy orangey background. But not too difficult to read - just not totally clear for my tired eyes. I've probably just been staring at a screen for too long.
March 10, 201412 yr fuzzy l is right - remove the letter spacing from the text and it looks a lot better. let's it breathe better
March 11, 201412 yr Author Thanks for taking the time to feedback. I'll look at the character spacing. Thanks again.
March 24, 201412 yr Great website! But if you can fix some minor issues this will be superb. 1) Instead of PT Sans use Open Sans font. 2) Proper margin is required in the footer section. 3) Use justified alignment for the paragraph. Looks more professional. 4) Instead of using gradient image in the footer you can have much better footer. 5) Footer looks very simple. Its like Tuxedo with Slippers. 6) In mobile view the footer element are not showing responsive behavior.(Snapshot enclosed) 7) The banner image needs to be large or either fixed to the body so that even on large screen it shouldnt show black background.(Snapshot enclosed). SEO Point of view: 1) Donot use <br /><br />, bad practice. You should use padding or margin instead. 2)You have some errors in validator. 3)Your website ranking is too low.(2 years old website) 4)In the footer you have used TABLE, Use UL instead. That would give you more flexibility. There are few more. If you are interest in fixing this up you can contact me at info@xeestudios.com or can visit www.xeestudios.com
March 24, 201412 yr When I was reading through your content I notice a couple of minor errors, spellings are correct but there are occasions when the wrong word has been used; ie. 'that' instead of 'than' on the Mosaic Marketing write-up page. I also noticed that if you are not on the home page and hover over the 'Refresh Websites' logo the menu that drops down is not fully visible. Under 'Creating a new website' the 'consultancy' link is only half on the header background. Another point is that the hover effect makes the link titles un-readable, wrong colour choice. I also found the content hard to read, and tiring on the eye's like others have. Plus - correct me if I am wrong but isn't the '@media' used in CSS3 and not HTML5, unless you mean the HTML5 'meta tags update' which I haven't read yet. If you are referring to meta tags it may be good to just add that to the comment.
March 26, 201412 yr Hi, This is a great website design. The color combination is also good. I congratulate you for this.
